RADIO PRESENT ... SETH TROXLER (REBELS, WOLF + LAMB, BPITCH)
http://www.myspace.com/sethtroxler
Through
a leaking bodily cavity resembling the pork found in Chinese restaurants, Satan
shat out a crystal beaming with glowing red embers. This crystal matured into
the fetus of Seth Troxler. Seth was placed on earth as a weeping fetus, the sound
of inevitability. As he grew, his ancestral roots took on a magnetic channeling
power, more than his feeble mind could ever consciously fathom.
As a result,
he became capable of creating some of the world's finest and most intuitive dance
cuts, including releases and remixes on Spectral, Wagon Repair, Crosstown Rebels,
M_nus, Bpitch Control, Circus Company, Items and Thing, Raum... Musik, FXHE, Esperanza,
Leftroom,Adults Only and Beretta Grey. His music has been featured on Audions
Fabric mix, The Circo Loco 10 comp mixed by Arpiar, and Matthew Dears new Get
Physical compilation.
Seth's DJ career started in Detroit in 2002 at the
age of 16 as a frequent Dj at Detroit club The Works and as a clerk at Detroit's
famous Melodies and Memories record store. With these experiences Seth gained
a preternatural understanding of rave, and dance music history, that now allows
him to conjours up mixes and tracks like Botticelli conjoured his Venus.
He
has played many outstanding international gigs, notably Fabric, Tenax, MUTEK,
, Panorama Bar, Watergate, Robert Johnson, Detroit Electroinc Music Festival,
The Rex, Fuse, Avalon and The End Up. As well as being a resident at Berlin's
legendary Club der Visionäre. Seth is also a bi monthly party host, and resident
DJ at Berlin Weekend Club, and Cityfox's new club Alte Borse in Zurich, w/ friends
Ryan Crosson and Shaun Reeves. Before relocating to Berlin he was also a key conceptual
force behind America's "Tesh Club" parties with partners in crime Ryan
Crosson and Lee Curtiss. Under the name Visionquest, they have hosted the annual
"Need is Say More" (old miami) party which has become DEMF's most anticipated
after hours since it's conception 2006.
His influences include the chirping
of crickets, the whirring of space ships, and the sweet sounds of whistling voodoo
magic. However, Seth draws the majority of his inspiration from Robert Downey
Jr., and the idea of releasing the shackles that bind Downey so he can finally
do heroin in peace. Also seth enjoy's cooking, long walks on the beach and candle
lit dinners.

http://www.myspace.com/mark_e_jisco
With
the pedigree of the top deck of AGWA's Yacht Club already in no doubt whatsoever,
following appearances by luminaries such as Dixon, Greg Wilson, Rub & Tug,
The Unabombers and Dicky Trisco among others over the past two years, Pulse Radio
have joined forces with local purveyors of quality deep dance CO-OP to present
one of the scenes hottest emerging talents for the final cruise of the summer
- Mark E. Not only is this Mark's first ever visit to Australia, but his performance
alongside the CO-OP residents afloat on Friday 5th April will be his one and only
Sydney show.
Keep deep...
MARK E (RUNNING BACK/JISCO - UK)
Over
the last four years, Mark E has established himself as a producer with a distinctive,
almost instantly recognisable style, and his consistently strong releases for
the likes of Running Back, Jisco Music and Golf Channel have put Birmingham firmly
on the House music map. As a DJ, he's no slouch either, with a burgeoning club
date calendar.
It's been a long road for Mark, and the modest and unassuming
DJ/producer is quick to praise those who have played a part in his success. In
fact, as he discusses how his musical career has come about, it appears to be
more by accident than design. There's no overarching ambition or set path to follow,
just a basic desire to produce and play the music he has been passionate about
since he was a teenager. Although now inextricably linked with Birmingham, Mark
has only lived in the city since 1995, when he moved there to study. He was born
and raised up the road in Wolverhampton and, in time honoured fashion, introduced
to dance music via an older sibling. Mark cites the '97/'98 period - when he finished
university - as the most pivotal in terms of shaping his tastes; there was a good
club scene in Birmingham at the time with Leftfoot and Procreation at the Medicine
Bar and the Floatation nights with people like Charles Webster and Simon DK playing
till the early hours. In terms of specific producers, it's a mix of Midlands mainstays
- the aforementioned Webster as well as Brooks, Atjazz and the DiY collective,
and US house heroes including Glenn Underground, Rasoul and Miguel Migs - who
had the most significant impact on him.
Fast-forward a few years though
and it's Disco, rather than House, that was responsible for Mark's big break.
In summer 2005 he reshaped Womack & Womack's 'Baby I'm Scared Of You' in his
now trademark style - slowly but surely layers of the original were looped together
in a highly hypnotic fashion until, eventually, the full song was unleashed. Since
then Mark has released on labels such as Running Back, Jisco, Sonar Kollektiv,
Golf Channel and Intrnasjonal, consistently creating and developing his distinctive
sound, eventually culminating in the birth of MERC, Mr E's own label and primarily
an outlet for his own productions. MERC has two releases under its belt so far,
with 2010 looking to be another busy year.
Increasingly in demand behind
the decks, Mark has plied his take on deep House and dusty Disco all over the
world and extensively in Europe and the UK, with tours of Japan and Australia
forthcoming.
If the past AGWA YACHT CLUB festivities are anything to go
by, this Good Friday celebration is set to raise the bar of Easter partying. With
almost no venue on-land serving alcohol on this public holiday, the only place
to be is on board this luxury cruise where refreshing AGWA cocktails -made from
the world's only coca leaf liqueur - are in plentiful supply.
