NEW COOKBOOK COMBATS ILL EFFECTS OF ACID
A
new cookbook, 'The Alkaline Cookbook', has been launched to help combat the ill
effects of excess acid, known to contribute to heart disease, obesity, weight
gain, and even cancer.
The Alkaline Cookbook is packed full
of easy-to-whip-up alkaline food recipes, aimed at increasing energy, enhancing
mental concentration, boosting weight-loss and promoting good health.
From
lip-smacking snacks to sumptuous main courses, the Alkaline Cookbook is a must-have
collection of easy-to-follow dishes, like Buckwheat Crepes with Alkaline Syrup
Breakfast and Go Green Alkaline Juice. Followed by professional athletes and celebrities,
the alkaline recipes are designed to make you feel healthy from the inside out.
Released
in 2009 by Dr Annie Guillet, the Alkaline Cookbook follows the principles set
out by Dr Robert Young, based in San Diego. Years of research into the health
benefits of an alkaline diet, combined with expert advice on how to cook up a
super-healthy, yet delicious storm, make up the Alkaline Cookbook.
When
Dr Guillet was diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer - a rare form of the
disease with five-year survival rates of only 25-50% - she set about researching
the disease. She believed that over acidity was the cause, and created 84 recipes
that may help fight the problem.
Believing that it was too
late to save her own life, the 32 year-old was determined to leave a healthy legacy,
according to her husband, Paulo Frietag.
"Annie lived
for eight months after being given two-months to live, and her will was amazing.
She believed with every fibre of her being in the importance of having an alkaline
body," Paulo says.
Increasingly, many health experts are
linking the levels of acid in our bodies and diets to ill health. The pH levels
in our stomach influence our digestion, and digestion problems often develop from
an imbalance of acid in the stomach. Excess acidity inhibits proper digestion,
which can lead to several illnesses, including obesity, heart diseases, premature
aging, and cancer. Low energy levels, weight-gain, fatigue, headaches and muscle
pain can also be symptoms of high acidity levels.
An-alkaline
diet helps to maintain the pH balance in our stomach, and can help people cope
with stress, ward off allergies and infections, slow the aging process, and loose
weight. Particularly acidic foods include caffeine, meat, sugar, citrus fruits
and alcohol.
Melbourne woman, Camille Rogers, credits the
alkaline diet and the Alkaline Cookbook with helping her shed over 33kg in less
than 12 months.
Ms Rogers was about to sell her business, have
knee surgery, and take medication for high blood pressure when she discovered
the new diet.
"I followed the Alkaline Cook Book step-by-step
for 4 weeks and now I eat Alkaline 80% of the time. My knee only has pain if I
eat acid foods and I have lost 33kg in weight, 5Kg in the first week. I haven't
been this light since I was 22 years old - I'm now 57 - and my blood pressure
is the best it's been for 10 years!" says Camille.

Alkaline Cookbook' is available from www.AlkalineCookBook.com.au
