ANITA SPRING
How
did you get your start in the music industry?
I have grown
up in the music industry and have been extremely lucky with securing gigs so far
in my career. My biggest break was being signed to Universal which helped raise
my profile.
Best part of the job?
I
have two favourite parts of the job - I adore playing live, and I also love recording.
The studio process is so different to live performances.
Worst
part of the job?
The worst part of the job is not having
enough venues to play in!
Any interesting experiences you
can share?
I had a fantastic time touring Japan last October
- they are huge jazz supporters. We had the honour of playing the Blue Note in
Nagoya - it was amazing.
Favourite CD of all time and why?
I
don't have only one favourite CD. At the moment I'm listening to the 'Blue Note
Trip' all the time.
Tell us about the best live show that
you ever saw?
The best live show would have to be Stevie
Wonder. He's so inspiring, such a talented man.
Favourite
bars/clubs/pubs to hang out in?
My favourite bar is the
Opera Bar, especially now the weather's warming up. Good music and in the sun!
What
advice would you give to someone looking at getting involved in the music industry?
I
had experience with being pushed into creating music that's not in my heart. My
best advice is to stay true to your sound.

final comments?
