Jamie Cibej, Bass player of bluejuice
How
did you get your start in the music industry?
Being in a band, we didn't
really get "a start" in the industry as such. We just sort of dribbled
out gradually until the stain we created on the pants of the industry became too
dark and smelly for them to ignore.
Best part of the job?
Being
able to indulge our juvenile natures.
Worst part of the job?
That my Chihuahua earns more than all of the band members combined.
Any
interesting experiences you can share?
Interesting experiences? In a band??
Surely not. Ours is a life of quiet contemplation, maintenance of alphabetical
filing systems, and dedication to sitting up straight - even on the comfiest of
couches.
Favourite CD of all time and why?
Jon Spencer blues
Explosion - 'Now I Got Worry'. The first 20 seconds of this album is just distorted
screaming - a guaranteed room-clearer
Tell us about the best live
show that you ever saw?
Kamahl - Big Day Out 2006
Favourite bars/clubs/pubs
to hang out in?
I shamelessly vote for my brother's wine bar / restaurant,
Vini, in Surry Hills
What advice would you give to someone looking at
getting involved in the
music industry?
Don't do it! The music industry
is a nest of vipers, mothered by a pack of vultures, and farmed by a cabal of
trolls.
Any news or final comments?
We're recording our second
album in 2009. Huzzah!
