Singer/songwriter Brian Cadd has been a shining light
in the Australian music scene for decades, first as a member of rock bands The
Groop and Axiom in the 1960s, followed by a long distinguished solo career both
in Australia and worldwide, including a stint during the 90s with Country Rock
legends, the Flying Burrito Brothers.
Brian has produced fellow
Australian acts such as Tina Arena, Glenn Shorrock, Gina Jeffries, Robin Jolley,
Ronnie Burns and Broderick Smith as well as establishing many successful artists
under his own record label Bootleg Records. He has also composed and performed
music for films and television including Alvin Purple, Alvin Rides Again, Class
of 74, The Heartbreak Kid, Blind Date, Homework, Fatal Vision and Return of the
Living Dead. He is the only Australian artist to appear on the giant American
music shows The Midnight Special and Don Kirshner's Rock concert.
Brian
won the Outstanding Prize at the Tokyo International Song Festival with his song
'Don't You Know it's Magic', which was a Top 20 hit for John Farnham. His songs
have been recorded by Joe Cocker, Ringo Starr, The Pointer Sisters, Bonnie Tyler,
Charlie Daniels, Gene Pitney, Glen Campbell, Cilla Black and Wayne Newton to name
but a very few. Brian has also enjoyed an amazing 40 years of successes with his
beautiful iconic song, 'A Little Ray of Sunshine,' which was recently used to
open the 2010 season of Network Seven's smash hit 'Packed to the Rafters.'
