Cantina’s Canteena @ Sweetheart’s Rooftop
Sweethearts Rooftop have teamed up with Sydney food truck institution, Cantina Movil, bringing its celebrated Mexican street food to the popular rooftop bar.
The bar has been decked out full fiesta style and with toasty heaters to make you really feel you’ve been magically transported south of the border. This partnership made in vaquero heaven guarantees to heat up the chilly winter nights until the end of August with a satisfying mix of burritos, nachos, quesadillas and soft shell tacos.
The tacos are a highlight and come with Mexican slaw (citrus dressing), queso fresco, chipotle mayo, fresh coriander, and are filled with your choice of chipotle beef, achiote chicken, chilorio pork or pinto beans.
Pressed and melted in a soft flour tortilla, the quesadilla is equally as appetising with a filling of your choice and queso fresco, Monterrey Jack cheese, and fresh coriander. Both delightfully cheesy and meaty, you can’t go wrong.
If that isn’t enough to get you going, then you’ll be licking your lips over the nachos – corn chips, pinto beans, queso fresco, chipotle mayo, fresh coriander and guacamole – again, with a filling of your choice.
Chilli aficionados can transform Cantina’s Mexican street fare from flavourful to fiery with the addition of special hot sauces, jalapenos and spicy cactus, propelling dishes up the Scoville scale as far as their heart desires.
If there’s still room for dessert, we highly recommend trying Cantina’s legendary chilli chocolate ice cream which cools the tongue and warms the throat – it really gets your mouth dancing in preparation for the night ahead.
At the bar, you’ll find a range of delicious tequila-based cocktails and Latino drinks, including Tequila Negroni (with Don Julio Reposado, Antica Formila and Campari), Tequila Espresso Martini, Sangrita and Verdita. Sweetheart’s Rooftop is the place to get the party started this winter!
