Niche Productions, Waterfall Entertainment, inthemix.com.au and FBi presents:
DAYS LIKE THIS!
Sunday 10th January, 2010. Moore Park, Sydney

After a stellar debut in January 2009 Days Like This!, Sydney's unique one-day music event, will return to the Moore Park Entertainment Quarter on Sunday 10th January, 2010 bringing yet another opportunity for music enthusiasts to begin their new year in world-class style.

Days Like This! is a boutique musical event created for music lovers by music lovers. Niche Productions and Waterfall Entertainment have once again sought an exceptional musical selection from a diverse range of genres, some of whom will be making their Australian debut and many others who will be performing exclusively in Sydney for Days Like This! The Moore Park site will host four indoor and outdoor stages, 10 bars, a diverse collection of gourmet food offerings, market stalls and on-site parking.

Days Like This! is fast becoming a stand out festival in the line up of Sydney festivals for its ability to combine good music, shorter queues and a sophisticated and passionate crowd. Last year's Days Like This! boasted one of the coolest and most credible musical lineups of Summer and this year they've done it again. Ladies and gentlemen, without further ado, here is the line-up for Days Like This! 2010 exclusive to this special event in NSW:

Check out the freshest of the fresh METHOD MAN & REDMAN! Yes, that's right. We're talking the Grammy Award-winning founding member of the Wu-Tang Clan, Method Man, and the one and only Redman of Def Squad fame. Signed to the infamous Def Jam label, the almighty hip hop duo dropped their second album Blackout! 2 this year exactly one decade after their 1999 debut Blackout! The legendary Method Man & Redman will rock Days Like This! 2010 like it's never been rocked before.

With an illustrious career spanning over a decade and a half, award winning British rapper/producer ROOTS MANUVA has been spearheading the hip hop, dub and electronica movement since 1994. His masterful work has gained worldwide recognition and opened doors for artists like The Streets and Dizzee Rascal, and it is an absolute honour to have Roots Manuva headlining the second ever Days Like This! In 2010 with his 6-piece band in their only Sydney performance!

Just after stepping off the plane direct from their European tour, THE CAT EMPIRE have announced they will be playing as part of the Days Like This! line-up on Jan 10. The Empire have been dying to get back to Sydney, and when approached by Days Like This!, they could not avoid the obvious, relishing the perfect opportunity to play their old track Days Like These - so expect a bit of a retrospective when they hit the stage!

Legendary Detroit singer, songwriter and producer extraordinaire Joseph "Amp" Fiddler, whose musical styles include funk, soul, dance and electronic music, has had the pleasure of working with artists of the highest calibre such as Prince, Jamiroquai, George Clinton and Moodymann. Another Days Like This! exclusive show AMP FIDDLER is sure to get the groove on!

Ethereal Atlanta songstress CAT POWER is coming back to Australia for an exclusive Sydney performance at Days Like This! Accompanied by her band DIRTY DELTA BLUES featuring drummer Jim White (Dirty Three), guitarist Judah Bauer (Blues Explosion), keyboardist Greg Foreman (Delta 72) and Eric Papparazi on bass. CAT POWER & DIRTY DELTA BLUES will work their magic in one super-special set not to miss at Days Like This!

Crossing boundaries with a fusion of dub, funk, afrobeat, and soul, mixed with vintage reggae bass, New Zealand 8-piece THE BLACK SEEDS will brighten any stage with their supremely danceable dynamic and you'll only be able to see them at Days Like This! Signed to legendary UK label Warped Records last year, Sydney's own three-man machine PIVOT have gained international renown for their awe-inspiring instrumentals. It's with great pleasure that Days Like This! invites these hometown heroes of experimental rock to the festival for an exclusive set in 2010.

After 15 years in the US hip-hop scene, riotous group UGLY DUCKING featuring MCs Dizzy Dustin and Andy Cooper, and Young Einstein with his famous dookie gold chain, have mastered the art of getting audiences jumping and singing along to their infamous combination of rhythm, rhyme and humour. It's exciting times for the trio with their new album Audacity out earlier this year. Expect to take part in some hell crazy stage antics when they take over the stage at Days Like This! in their only Sydney performance!

New school soul sensation MAYER HAWTHORNE has just released his second critically lauded full length album A Strange Arrangement and is making his way to Australia for the first time ever! Days Like This! is delighted to have this vinyl junkie's one and only Sydney show. Few expect such heartfelt sentiment to come from a 29-year-old white kid from Ann Arbor, but Mayer Hawthorne has won the ears and hearts of BBC Radio 1 host Gilles Peterson and producer/DJ Mark Ronson. Mayer Hawthorne is living proof that retro is no longer throwback music - revival is progression!

With nearly two decades on the drum'n'bass scene LTJ BUKEM is known as an innovator and originator, crafting some of the finest jazzy atmospheric drum'n'bass the world has ever heard. LTJ Bukem will be joined on the Days Like This! stage by long time friend and collaborator MC CONRAD in the pair's only Sydney appearance!

Based in California, DILATED PEOPLES have achieved fame in the US underground hip hop community, energizing the rap underground in a similar fashion to fellow West Coast crew Jurassic 5. The stage show will feature turntable maestro DJ Babu and MCs RAkaa Iriscience & Evidence. Days Like This! is proud to present the band's only Sydney show on their virgin Australia tour!

QUANTIC (DJ Set) is a musician, DJ and record producer made in Worcestershire, now based in Colombia. His music draws upon elements of salsa, bossa nova, soul, funk and jazz. Holland himself plays guitar, bass, double bass, piano, organ, saxophone and percussion. Much of his sound is original composition with little in the way of sampling of other artists' material. When asked to describe what type of music he produces, Holland said: "You're asking the wrong person really, but some stuff is hiphop-orientated, some stuff is at house tempo, but not necessarily 'house' music, some of it has a strong Latin influence, some of it has a strong African influence, and some of it is just a mix-up of loads of styles." Quantic will have his DJ hat on for an exclusive set at Days Like This! 2010 so get your dancing shoes ready!

Australian masters of deep funk and super-heavy soul THE BAMBOOS FEAT: KYLIE AULDIST, a treasured Melbourne songstress who has worked with the likes of Renee Geyer and Jimmy Barnes, are festival favourites for good reason. The Bamboo's smooth soul-funk will go down a sweet treat in their only Sydney show at Days Like This! in 2010.

19-year-old JOKER burst onto the dubstep and grime scene last year and was quickly named Pitchfork's 2008 Producer Of The Year. His latest release Kapsize002 sold out in two days and his productions are battered by DJs including Appleblim, Pinch, Plastician and Rustie. Prepare for a sensory overload when Joker takes on Days Like This!

Comparable to Aretha Franklin and other greats though way too gutsy and funky to cross over to the mainstream, MARVA WHITNEY is known by funk devotees as one of the rawest, brassiest, most powerful divas the genre has ever produced. Along with fellow funk belters Lyn Collins and Vicki Anderson, Whitney made her name singing with the James Brown Revue for a few years, and her limited, much-sampled recordings for Brown-associated labels now fetch astronomical sums on the collector's market. It is a great honour to have Marva Whitney gracing Days Like This! for her one and only Sydney show.

Critically acclaimed UK production/songwriting duo THE NEXTMEN, consisting of Dom Search & Brad Baloo, return to Australia with their fourth studio album Join The Dots. Released in August this year The Nextmen will grace the stage at Days Like This! in what will be their only Sydney appearance. Expect grand hip hop drum sets combined with killer electronic bass lines!

MICACHU is the moniker of a major new talent! 21 year old English songwriter and producer Mica Levi performs a brand of experimental pop that is utterly mesmerising. Classically trained Micachu likes to keep things rough around the edges with fat beats and tantalising melodies. For their debut Australian trip MICACHU & THE SHAPES (her two shapely band mates) will make their only Sydney performance at Days Like This! extra special!

Canadian electronic duo THUNDERHEIST are producer Grahm Zilla (from Montreal) and MC Isis (from Toronto). With the release of their self-titled debut album earlier this year, Thunderheist make their way to Australia and are ready to rock Days Like This! exclusively!

It's been quite a year for the three members of WE HAVE BAND. Having only played their debut gig a year ago, the electro trio are now regarded as one of the most exciting bands coming out of London-town. Put on your dancing shoes when We Have Band make their way to Australia for the first time to play Days Like This! From the early days of Giant Step to today's

Turntables on the Hudson parties, NICKODEMUS has been a key element in the NYC dance music scene for over 10 years. And now he's finally ready to unleash his sophomore album Sun People! Sydney indie dance band CASSETTE KIDS come to the Days Like This! fold fresh from supporting Lily Allen, The Presets, the Ting Tings and Grafton Primary. The rightfully hyped locals will hit the stage armed with songs from their forthcoming debut album. Exciting times!

Paris' PÉPÉ BRADOCK, aka Julien Auger, is the man responsible for 'Deep Burnt,' one of the most lusciously gorgeous house tracks of the past decade and a staple of deep house DJs for years. A DJ, producer and remixer in the house scene, Pépé Bradock will be in full swing at Days Like This! 2010 on his debut Australian visit!

Sydney whiz kid TOM UGLY, who won triple j's inaugural "Unearthed High" competition last year (then known as [is]), will play Days Like This! as a fresh year 12 graduate! Nominated for Qantas' 2009 Spirit Of Youth Award (SOYA) in the Music Category, overachieving boy-genius Tom Ugly and band will be celebrating at Days Like This! 2010 playing songs from his debut self-titled EP.

TEENAGERSINTOKYO (DJ SET) began life as a really hot DJ team frequenting cool underground indie clubs, Modular parties and advertising functions before they became a fully fledged live band. teenagersintokyo will return to their DJing roots for Days Like This!

DJ and producer BRENNAN GREEN is an underground disco luminaries and legend. He has his own label, Chinatown, and pioneered the ground breaking NY parties Pop Your Funk and Junky Blues that made every guy with a lumberjack beard start wanting to play disco. See Brennan Green's only Sydney show at Days Like This! Joining the line-up is the latest moniker for cult electronic pioneer Mark Pritchard

HARMONIC 313. Following on from the seductive 60's easy listening vibe of Harmonic 33, Pritchard switches from being past to future focussed. 33 has become 313, a nod to the area code of Detroit known for the dark futuristic sounds that underpin Pritchard's new project, fusing dub-step with hip hop and heavy electronics.

DJ, producer and Liebe*Detail key artist MATTHIAS MEYER hails from the quiet town of Lueneberg, near Hamburg, Germany. As a young, excited music lover, the hi-tech sounds of Detroit and Chicago spoke to Matthias, and encouraged him to seek the excitement and hustle of nearby Hamburg's diverse club scene. From here he let music take control, actively promoting this newfound scene in his local towns with the Sfunkt DJ collective, organising parties that would bring the electronic message to an otherwise dance-less area. In 2010 he brings his magic to Days Like This!

Comprised of New York MC/producer Raphael LaMotta and Filipino/Australian vocalist Dana Diaz-Tutaan, and dabbling in sounds that span across hip hop, electro and raw acoustics, husband and wife duo APSCI are signed to the prestigious Quannum label, have toured with Blackalicious and have already built up quite an impressive profile overseas with the success of their Thanks For Asking album. They round up the incredible 2010 Days Like This! line-up.

DJs LOVEFINGERS & LEE DOUGLAS as individuals are integral members of the disco elite. With their powers combined these dancefloor maestros produce deep sexy disco, filthy rock, twisted house, pumping high energy, big room techno and an anything goes attitude. Lovefingers & Lee Douglas will rock your world at Days Like This!

In a time when everyone who isn't Crookers is claiming to be a "disco act", there is an insurmountable wash of pretenders. THE SWISS, however, are a legit live disco band whose existence is based entirely on flavour and good times rather than the Cobra Snake and fitted caps. The Swiss bring their crisp and snappy drums that cause pregnancies, quicksand lazer-sludge bass, dizzy pops & flourishes, melody rays and synthesised strings that glide on the thermal currents of life exclusively to Days Like This!
