Loud,
decadent, and wholly diabolical, Eagles Of Death Metal are back with their highly-anticipated
new album, 'Heart On'. Following on from 2006's acclaimed 'Death By Sexy', 'Heart
On' springs from the warped imaginations of Josh "Babyduck" Homme (Queens
Of The Stone Age frontman, Kyuss founder) and partner-in-crime Jesse "Boots
Electric" Hughes. Packed with contagious hooks and debauched guitar-work,
'Heart On' is the year's most eagerly awaited rock release!
Both hailing
from Palm Beach, California, Josh Homme and Jesse Hughes were childhood friends
before coming together as the almighty Eagles Of Death Metal in 1998. Making their
debut as part of Homme's legendary 'The Desert Sessions' series, the dynamic duo
would not go on to record a full length until 2004's 'Peace, Love, Death Metal'.
Breaking the big time with their 2006 offering 'Death By Sexy', the pair were
soon enough being worshipped as the kings of rock 'n' roll sleaze, with AllMusic
calling the album "gloriously sexy fun", Uncut hailing it as "one
mighty party album" and Spin describing their sound as "rock 'n' roll
fantasy camp."
Returning to the limelight in 2009 with 'Heart On',
its plain the see Homme and Hughes are still up to no good. The album's first
track, 'Anything 'Cept The Truth', gives everything an Eagles Of Death Metal ear
could desire, plus the truth
that's real talk, honey. 'Wannabe in LA' paints
a perfect picture of the So Cal-locale, palm trees, sun, fun, and of course buns.
The one, two, three puncheroo of 'High Voltage', 'Secret Plans', and 'Now I'm
a Fool', is drenched in characteristic hedonism. 'High Voltage' has the most infectiously
grimy groove ever laid to tape, and 'How Can A Man With So Many Friends Feel So
Alone' features guitars that buzz like a bee.
The Tag Team Supreme bring
along a wild bunch-o-bandits for the ride, including Miss Kat Von D, Brian "B.O.C"
O'Connor, Darlin' Dave Catching, Alain Johannes, Troy Van Leeuwen, Brody "Queen
Bee" Dalle, and Kim "Koko Bubbles" Martinelli.
Full of punchy
tunes and mind-blowing musicianship, 'Heart On' sees Eagles Of Death Metal fully-suited
& booted, ready to rattle the industry with one of the 2009's most fearless
and fun-loving rock records. Make sure to catch the band on their national tour
