JOEL RAFIDI: Phases

In a first of its kind, Sydney Hip Hop artist Joel Rafidi will embark on a promotional tour that will have him busking his way down the east coast, going directly to the people visiting malls and schools, and documenting it all on social media – Joel Rafidi Road Trippin!

Joel impacted commercial radio earlier this year with his breakout single ‘Do It Again’, which received extensive radio across the country. His follow up single ‘I’ll Be Good’ is reaching similar success with immediate radio additions across the country. September 12 sees his debut album ‘PHASES’ released through MGM.

Like any true great art-form, hip hop has evolved from its primitive origins to grow into what can arguably now be called the most popular genre of music in the world today. Its global footprint cannot be denied, with artists taking up the call worldwide. Australia is no exception, and it is where Joel Rafidi found his inspiration, after being exposed to the likes of Tupac Shakur and Dr Dre.

Beset with all the usual hurdles and awkward moments, Joel pushed through all the flak thrown at him to eventually arrive at the point where it became more about finding his own identity, whilst staying true to the credibility of the culture.

Phases was produced by Joel Rafidi and Daniel Antix, recorded at Lockup Studios and mastered by Steve Smart at Studios 301. Available now and distributed through MGM.
