Is everyone ready for some Love from the musical phenomenon that
is September? 'Love CPR' is September's fourth studio album, and the very first
that contains co-writes for the unstoppable force from Sweden. 'Love CPR' - a
title picked on the basis of the "somewhat hysterical love/hate topics in
many songs" - also has a strong Anglo-Danish connection. The British songwriter,
Wayne Hector, who has more than 30 international number ones under his belt and
has written songs for the likes of Britney Spears, The Pussycat Dolls and Enrique
Iglesias, contributed to the album and helped to pick the first single, 'Resuscitate
Me.'
September's fascination with effective hit pop songs
led the pop joint venture with Swedish team Jonas von der Burg/Niclas von de Burg/Anno
Bahagavan. Starting with her debut and immediate breakthrough single 'La La La
(Never Give It Up)' in 2003 most of September's songs has been productions by
Jonas von der Burgand his associates. 'La La La' charted in the Top 10 singles
in Russia, Sweden and Hungary
September recalls the time and
place when she first thought she was onto something big. "One day when I
was having a tan outside my parent's house, I got a phone call. A friend called
and shouted 'Listen to the radio! Listen now!' My song (La La La) was on the most
influential hit channel in Sweden."
The real international
breakthrough though came with 'Cry for You.' After a first release in Sweden in
late 2006 the song conquered international charts for close to two years. It is
now + 500 000 in the US and is by some distance the biggest Swedish hit in the
States for more than a decade. The total international sales exceed two million
copies. After releasing, 'Can't Get Over,' which also held tremendous success
overseas, September now hold the status of being the bestselling Swedish export
artist (ABBA catalogue sales excluded).
Over the last couple
of years, September's been on a never expiring round-the-world ticket and with
her forth-coming album due for release in early February, let's hope this bring
this international songstress to Australia!
