WSFM’s Brendan ‘Jonesy’ Jones gives the scoop on his top picks for music-loving dads this Father’s Day.

Forget socks and jocks (trust me, he’s already got plenty), if you want to make this a Father’s Day to remember you need to give the man music. And if you want to make a strong case for why you should be henceforth known as ‘The Favourite Child’ then you’ll want to be getting him some quality pieces of vinyl.

This was my first Acca Dacca album

– Cat Stevens, Tea For The Tillerman
For when I’m feeling mellow. I love Longer Boats, the ubiquitous Father and Son, Sad Lisa, Where Do The Children Play, Hard Headed Woman and the title track of course!

– Prince, Purple Rain
I love the title track of this, that guitar running through the chorus pedal gives me chills

–  Never Mind the Bollocks here’s the sex pistols.
Takes me back to art school, I wore this record thin. Pretty Vacant became my anthem.

– Metallica Masters of puppets.
“Obey your Master! Master!” Get me this for Father’s Day.

– Led Zeppelin, IV
No explanation needed really.

– Australian Crawl, Greatest Hits
Takes me back to days spent driving in my mate Turbo’s SSS Stanza listening to this.

– The Beatles, Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band
I really “discovered” The Beatles when I started in radio in 1990. I love Day in the Life.
