KING OF POP ANNIVERSARY
As
the eyes of the world were focused on South Africa for the World Cup and London
for the Wimbledon tennis matches, avid fans of the man who called himself the
King of Pop - Michael Jackson - mark the anniversary of his death with tributes
and visits to the cemetery. Fans were finally allowed to visit Forest Lawn Cemetery
where Jackson is buried, but they will not be allowed anywhere near the grave
itself. A terrace that overlooked the gravesite was erected so that fans could
leave flowers and gifts but there was a long list of items not allowed - balloons,
doves, candles, video cameras, posters, computers, incense, and radios. Fans who
were disrespectful would also not be allowed.
WANNA WORK
WITH LINKIN PARK?
Linkin Park have announced a September
14th release date for their new album A THOUSAND SUNS. The first single from the
new album will be 'The Catalyst', which debuts on radio worldwide on August 3
and will also be featured on the band's MySpace Music profile. Prior to the song's
release, the band and MySpace are teaming up for 'Linkin Park, Featuring You',
a unique promotion that gives fans a first-of-its-kind opportunity to collaborate
with Linkin Park to produce their own song based on some of the tracks from the
forthcoming single. A winner to the MySpace competition will be chosen by Linkin
Park and their submission will either be included on the band's new album or the
winner will be invited to perform with the band on a song on the upcoming record.
Fans can go to myspace.com/linkinpark to download audio stems from 'The Catalyst'.
Fans will be encouraged to adjust the stems and also record and produce their
own additional tracks. Fans can use their own music production software to create
their song and then upload it to the band via their MySpace page. Once each new
version is submitted, the track will be shared in an embeddable player, which
anyone can access to rate and comment, as well as click through to record their
own tracks.

DIRTY
LAUNDRY FLY
Whilst it may seem like a long time between
drinks for Dirty Laundry, we can assure you, the guys have not been sitting around
idle. In fact Dean, JJ, Lee Lee and Pete have been busier than ever, putting the
finishing touches on what will either be their first artist album, or a series
of themed EP's. Following up their 2 Top 10 'ARIA Club Chart' hits: 'Disco Infected'
& 'Hate Me' the guys are back with a fresh and exciting new sound. 'I Want
You To Fly' (released 12 July) is the first in a series of planned releases for
2010, featuring a plethora of quality mixes (this package really does provide
something for everyone). Dirty Laundry are once again set to get dance floors
jumping and the airwaves pumping.
