AC/DC #1Hot on the heels of their new album 'Black Ice', rockers ACDC have seen the album fly off the shelf in nearly every country where the album is available. In the United States alone, where the album is available exclusively through Walmart, Sony projected 800,000 albums sold in its first week of release. The figure tops the last release from Californian rockers The Eagles and the most albums sold by a Sony artist in two years. Besides topping the charts in their homeland and the US, AC/DC is expected to top the charts in Germany, France, Canada, the UK, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, and Norway.COLLECTOR'S CHOICEFor fans of music from the sixties and seventies, the folks at Collector's Choice have two new releases coming out. The first is a two disc set of early Liza Minnelli. The entire A&M catalog which was released previously on CD as a very limited edition fetched up hundreds of dollars each on ebay. 'Liza Minnelli', 'Come Saturday Morning', 'New Feelin', and 'Live at the Olympia in Paris' along with a booklet of rare photos will be released on November 25. AM pop radio was filled with music from Tommy James and the Shondells in the sixties and seventies. Now Collectors Choice and Aura are releasing a collection approved by James titled '40 Years: The Complete Singles Collection (1966-2006)'. The two CD set includes 48 hit singles, a rare 1962 release, liner notes, and photos from James' personal collection. The set, which was recorded in its original format, will be released on November 25.RIP TRLBack when the M in MTV really meant music, the MTV network started a video countdown/live request program called TRL for Totally Request Live.
