Marc Scully (aka Omegaman) DOB: 20/11/1963 (Yes - I'm an old bastard!) Position/Company: My day gig is Program Manager - EMStream How did you get your start in the music industry? As a musician - I have been involved in music one way or another now for over 25 years. Best part of the job? Listening to music all day every day. Discovering new tunes & artists & revisiting old ones. It's very inspiring & makes up for the shitty things in life. Worst part of the job? Ignorance. Too many people turn their noses up at things they are not familiar with - too many "experts". Dealing with rude & aggressive people. Any interesting experiences you can share? I have my first single being released soon 'Don't Hate Me Cause I'm Funky' & an album early next year. Keep an eye out for 'Omegaman' on Casa del Discos recordings (Hi Mando!) Favourite CD of all time and why? Way too many favourites to select just one - some of my favourite albums include (in no particular order): 'Rubbersoul' & 'Revolver' - The Beatles, 'Inna Styles' - Wicked Beat Sound System, 'Mirror Conspiracy', 'Babylon Rewound' & 'Sounds from the Thievery Hi Fi etc' - Thievery Corporation, 'London Calling' & 'Sandinista' - The Clash, 'Moon Safari' - Air, 'Exile On Main Street' & 'Tattoo You' - Rolling Stones I could go on all day! Tell us about the best live show that you ever saw? Crazy Penis at the Metro a couple of years ago, Burt Bacharach, Wayne Newton, Barry White, Johnny Cash, Stray Cats, The Clash, The Cure, Sunnyboys, Lenny Kravitz, Son Seals Central Park NYC. Favourite bars/clubs/pubs to hang out in? I don't hang out in bars/clubs/pubs anymore - I happily now have a life. What advice would you give to someone looking at getting involved in the music industry? Don't do it! - be prepared for a lot of bullshit, disappointment, elation & red tape (heh, heh, heh) Danny Canak
