Pyrmont Growers Market Returns

The Pyrmont Growers Market returns on Saturday 25th February 2017 at its original location in Pyrmont Bay Park.

The Pyrmont Growers market will run from 7:30am to 12:00pm and will be held on the fourth Saturday of each month throughout the year.

The unique location – directly opposite the harbour-side entrance to The Star and with views across Pyrmont Bay – is easily accessible by car, bus, light rail or ferry, and of course by foot if youʼre a local!

Erica Reynolds, Co-President of the Pyrmont Ultimo Chamber of Commerce said: “The markets were always a popular attraction in the precinct and the positive feedback weʼve received about its return suggests it will be just as popular and successful as ever.”

The Pyrmont Growers Market had been a perennial feature of the precinct for 18 years before it went into a 10-month hiatus from April 2016. Through the encouragement and persistence of local residents and business owners, it has finally been reinstated.

As before, it will be a gathering place for people to come together, enjoy a diverse range of artisanal prepared food, and support our local producers and farmers against an iconic backdrop. Pyrmont Growers Market will offer city dwellers access to farm fresh produce, handmade chocolates, fermented foods, cured meats, fresh flowers, Australian olive oils, spices, preserves, fresh meat, baked goods and so much more.

Ms Reynolds pointed out “the Pyrmont Growers Market is good for businesses and good for the community. Not only is it a great place to socialise, but it offers an opportunity for small traders and cottage businesses to get a start.”

Mick has been working closely with food consultant Tawnya Bahr behind the scenes to engage a diverse mix of authentic and quality producers for this monthly market.
