'Sessions
Seven' doesn't invite you back into the club so much as it actually grabs you
by the laces and pulls you onto the dance floor! Need proof of just how massive
the 2010 installment of Ministry of Sound's fabled Sessions series is? Well, once
again the action has spilled over to three discs full of powerhouse dance music,
each CD packed with the biggest tunes of the moment as well as the ones we'll
be dancing to in months to come, all mixed up by three certified heavyweights.
Bringing their renowned floor-pumping muscle to Disc 1, Australia's own
Stafford Brothers back-up their impressive reputation with 20 tracks of unrestrained
banging house. With a bevy of new and exclusive tunes littering their selection
from the likes of Jump Jump Dance Dance, Placebo, Meck feat. Dino, Bob Sinclar,
Chris Sorbello, Ou Est Le Swimming Pool and more.
Triumphantly returning
to the Sessions series after a monster mix for the 2009 edition, local hero Tommy
Trash takes on Disc 2. Capping off an enormous twelve months for Tommy, this mix
truly offers something for everyone fusing house, electro and even indie dance
into one streamlined party disc with tracks from Wiley, Passion Pit, Yolanda be
Cool, Example, Fedde Le Grand, Afrojack, Two Door Cinema Club and more.
Taking
the reins for the grand finale of 'Sessions Seven' is none other than Steve Aoki,
Los Angeles' enduring DJ supremo and the mastermind behind the Dim Mak arena at
the 2010 We Love Sounds and Winter Sound System festivals. Bringing his shiny
Hollywood stamp to proceedings on Disc 3, Aoki throws down choice cuts from Dim
Mak brethren The Bloody Beetroots wedged alongside Australia's own The Aston Shuffle,
The Only, Kissy Sell Out and even the snarling gutter-punk of Rifoki, Steve Aoki
ends this party the only way he knows how - with the roof torn off and the cops
called in to break up a riot.
As always with a new entry into the Sessions
series, mix curators Tommy Trash and The Stafford Brothers will be hitting the
road in support of the new set, hijacking clubs around the country to show us
exactly why they're at the top of their game.
