Bringing
you a swag of super-exclusive first usage tracks and remixes, 'Sessions 6' is
the VIP Room of dance compilations. Fortunately, it's a large room because this
year's tracklisting is so huge that Ministry of Sound have had to throw in an
entire extra disc to bring you a staggering 60 tracks over 3 CDs of the absolute
hottest club sounds of 2009 and beyond.
Disc 1 features the most in-demand
club records mixed by the most in-demand club DJ, Goodwill. Those tracks that
aren't already pounding the dancefloors and airwaves of the world most definitely
will be, as Goodwill has long been known as an Oracle of dance music. For any
remaining doubts, please see The 2008 Annual (#1 ARIA), 'The Clubbers Guides to
2006 and 2007, or any of Goodwill's Falls, Big Day Out, or Splendour sets.
Having
conducted extensive research on the art of the party, Tommy Trash has mixed the
cutting edge electro and party hits that make up Disc 2. No stranger to hit-making
himself, Tommy's 2007 single 'Slide' made it onto the MOS 2007 Annual, and his
new single 'Need Me to Stay' is out in May. Tommy's also behind a slew of high
profile remixes which, at one time, occupied the #1 and #2 positions on the ARIA
Club Chart simultaneously. He's #24 on the Inthemix Top 50 DJs, has played One
Love, Good Vibrations, Stereosonic and Future Music. And his 'Electro House Sessions'
compilation was planted firmly at #1 on the ARIA Compilations Chart for three
weeks, earning Gold status.
The often imitated, never duplicated Dirty South
brings the most sought after European club records to Disc 3. Having reached Superstar
status himself over the past few years with a string of ultra-high profile remixes
and re-workings for artists like Depeche Mode, Mark Ronson, Josh Wink, Tiësto,
Chris Lake, Fedde Le Grande and TV Rock, Mr South. Add to the mix his chart topping,
ARIA nominated EP 'It's Too Late' and it's no surprise that he's one of the most
in demand new artists in house music worldwide.
But the extra disc isn't
all that's new. Devotees will notice that there's been a total image overhaul,
courtesy of one of Paris' coolest design houses. This new image reinforces the
Sessions series' maturity as a compilation, having already proved its formidable
reputation over five previous smashes.
And as if all of that isn't enough
to take in, you can also catch the Sessions 6 National Tour around the country
from May-August!
