ONE MILLION REASONS TO CELEBRATE 7-ELEVEN
DAY
Free SLURPEES to commemorate the coolest day on the calendar!
Franchisees at 7-Eleven stores across the nation are
bracing themselves for a frosty frenzy in anticipation of giving away
one million FREE SLURPEES on 7-Eleven Day.
One million Australians are expected to claim a free small
SLURPEE simply by saying "Happy 7-Eleven Day!" in store between
the hours of 7am and 11pm on Monday 7th November 2011. This equates
to 375,000 litres of free SLURPEE favourites including Raspberry, Passionfruit
and Kiwi Strawberry.
The first 7-Eleven Day was held in 2008 to celebrate the
invention of the company's much loved SLURPEE and excitement surrounding
the day has exploded in the past three years. Lalena King, Brand Manager
for 7-Eleven Australia, explained that 7-Eleven Day 2011 will be the
biggest ever due to the rapid growth in store numbers.
"We're really excited as 7-Eleven Australia will
have almost 600 stores across the Eastern Seaboard, and that means lots
more free SLURPEE for our loyal customers. For the first time we will
also have Slurpers in ACT joining the party. In true SLURPEE style,
we're also inviting Australians to share their 7-Eleven Day happy snaps
on the Slurpee Australia Facebook page for a chance to win a year's
supply of SLURPEE," Lalena said.
To celebrate the unofficial birthday a limited edition
range of SLURPEE cups have been commissioned for 7-Eleven Day, which
creatively share the company's history.
INTERESTING SLURPEE MOMENTS:
SLURPEE was invented by 7-Eleven in the 1960's, but it

Melbourne
In 2010, Australia hosted the world's first sanctioned
Sports Slurping event after 30,000 Australian SLURPEE fans lobbied the
world's leading competitive eating organisation - the International
Federation of Competitive Eating (IFOCE) and its subsidiary Major League
Eating (MLE) - officially recognised "Slurping" as a sport.
On 7-Eleven Day in 2010, 274,875 Australians rushed into

rewarded with a free small SLURPEE.
Thursday 21 September 2011 marked the inaugural BYO Cup
Day and the official start of SLURPEE season. Thousands of Australians
took weird and wonderful vessels into 7-Eleven stores and filled them
to their hearts content for the price of a medium SLURPEE.
SLURPEE fans can wish their local 7-Eleven store "Happy
7-Eleven Day!" at nearly 600 locations in Victoria, New South Wales,
