Pinot Noir lovers won’t want to miss out on attending this year’s Stonier International Pinot Noir Tasting (SIPNOT) in Sydney on September 11th, an event that has clearly established its prominence and legacy in the wine industry over the last 18 years.
SIPNOT has the ability to capture what is happening throughout the Pinot Noir world by looking at 12 carefully selected Pinot Noirs. The renowned event provides a wonderful forum to taste, appreciate and debate the qualities and characters of the Pinot Noirs included in the tasting line-up, which this year come from Australia, New Zealand, France, Germany and the USA.
Mike Symons, Senior Winemaker at Stonier, says that people know the wines that are featured, but are unaware in which order they are poured. Table captains are seated at each table to encourage conversation and give everyone an opportunity to have their opinion heard.
“Pinot Noir is an enigmatic grape variety that captures everybody. Just when you think you know everything about it, you discover something new and it just throws you.” said Symons.
SIPNOT alternates between being held in Sydney and Melbourne but has also featured internationally in London (2011 and 2012) and Hong Kong (2014).
This year’s SIPNOT wine panel will be led by respected Australian wine identity James Halliday AM, who will be joined by highly regarded wine commentator Huon Hooke and Stonier’s Mike Symons. Aaron Brasher, Wine Marketing and Strategy Specialist, will host the evening as MC.
Tickets are $195 and can be purchased by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org
Due to the rarity of the chosen wines, seats are strictly limited, with early bookings recommended. SIPNOT is always a sold out event.
