To all women affected by racism - black, white, Asian, Hispanic, European, South American, etc I've learned lessons in life beyond the multi-faceted world of colourisation based primarily on the fact that this world is an intertwined existence. It is funny to hear that when we talk about race, we forget we live in someone else's world. That we, to them, are just a race too. Now forgive me if I am completely wrong in justifying my point but did God give us colours so that we could collide as an artwork and bring out the tones and timbres of us all if we did unite? Consistently regarded as 'Stupid White Girls', who is the person to talk? Many a time on Myspace, I have seen women, not of the Caucasian 'race', belittling women for the sake of it - with the only excuse that "you should'a seen what you white b*tches did to us in history." The funniest part about it all is I do know. I do know what happened in history. I read, I write and I explore. Like the world wars and the revolutions, I read and I learn so that what has been done wrong in the past never reciprocates ever again. I read and learn to teach my sisters and their friends what it is to be in solitude and treated like dirt and how to "treat thy neighbour." The saddest part is, most of the people who use the excuse about "white b*tches" don't even know their own history. So for women who put other women down because of race and religion, you are the "white b*tches" because you are about as white as a blank canvas with nothing to make you shine. I may be a "white b*tch" but at least my acceptance spans far beyond a measure in what colour my parents are and how I turned out. What's even better is that bi-racial women do it too - as though to take heed with one of their races, like it was a cool thing. You say white women take your men, white women this, white women that... we are all women. But be as you like. At least I know that at the end of the day, for the women who want to keep calling names against other women, who's blood are you going to take if you have to choose between death and a white b*tch? A "white b*tch" may one day save your life. ReeMicZ Have any comments about this article? Have your say by emailing letters@sydneyunleashed.com
