Following
on from the success of two of the largest urban/pop events ever staged in Australia
- Winterbeatz and Supafest, Paperchase Touring and Entertainment in association
with Jive are thrilled to announce Summerbeatz 2010 featuring record breaking
rapper Flo Rida, worldwide chart topping sensation Jay Sean, Grammy nominated
sensation Soulja Boy, Gym Class Heroes charismatic frontman Travie McCoy, plus
Australia's own Stan Walker, and DJ Nino Brown. With over 4 hours of live music
Summerbeatz 2010 promises to heat up the stage with a line-up of some of the world's
most popular chart topping musical talent all on one bill. With shows in Brisbane,
Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, Summerbeatz promises to deliver an unforgettable
pop music experience.
Flo Rida's debut single "Low" smashed records
around the world in 2008, and became the most downloaded digital track in history.
Beginning his career as a hype man for Fresh Kid Ice of 2 Live Crew, Flo Rida's
hard work and journey to success finally paid off. The rapper followed up the
worldwide smash hit with the chart-topping singles "Elevator" , "In
the Ayer", "Right Round" (another record breaker!), and "Sugar".
His latest single "Club Can't Handle Me" featuring DJ-sensation David
Guetta is currently sitting at Number 4 on the Aria Charts.
Jay Sean's
smash hit single "Down" was one of the biggest selling songs of 2009
selling a staggering 3 million copies in the US alone! Becoming the first UK urban
artist to top the US Hot 100, Jay Sean again made history with the release of
his second single "Do You Remember" which saw him become the first British
artist in recent memory to score two simultaneous US Top 10 singles. The first
UK artist to be signed by iconic hip hop imprint Cash Money, the savvy hitmaker,
by way of London, already had numerous Top 10 hits in the UK before the success
of "Down" saw him rapidly ascend into a bonafide mainstream pop/R&B
star of truly global proportions. Jay is currently working on his new album slated
for a November release. His brand new single "2012 (This Ain't The End)"
features lady of the moment Nicki Minaj and is currently at Australian radio.
Soulja Boy (aka Soulja Boy Tell'em) paved a name for himself with the
online music dance craze "Crank That (Soulja Boy)". After creating a
stir with the dance and single over the internet, it wasn't long before he came
to the attention of hip hop producer Mr. Collipark, which saw him sign a deal
with Collipark Records and Interscope. The youngest artist to ever write, perform
and produce a number one hit , Soulja Boy proved he was no one-hit wonder releasing
two popular albums featuring singles "Yahhh!", "Donk" and
"Kiss Me Thru The Phone". The Grammy- nominated artist is about to release
his new album 'The DeAndre Way' which will feature collaborations with Gucci Mane,
Birdman and Justin Bieber, along with his first novel 'Teenage Millionaire'.
Travie
McCoy's smash hit single "Billionaire" is currently sitting at the top
of the charts the world over. As the charismatic front-man of Gym Class Heroes,
Travie McCoy released his debut solo album "Lazarus" in June 2010. Melding
elements of rap, rock, R&B and funk into one cohesive and melodic sound, Gym
Class Heroes have diverse appeal based on their impressive music dexterity. With
4 successful albums under their belt as a group, Travie McCoy has stepped into
the solo light with his debut single "Billionaire", peaking at #3 on
the Australian Aria chart.
In just under a year, Stan Walker has achieved
the near impossible; the nineteen year-old singer has evolved from a mere contender,
into one of the most refreshing and shining examples of talent the Australian
music industry as to offer. Stan's undeniable vocal-gift and engaging boy-next-door
charm have already resulted in him successfully releasing a couple of top selling
singles (the double Platinum "Black Box" and Gold "Unbroken")
and a platinum selling album ("Introducing Stan Walker"). Stan's success
so far was noted around the world, and in no time at all offers to work with him
on his new album flooded in from around the globe. Stan handpicked only the most
suitable collaborators including Ryan Tedder (Beyonce, Leona Lewis), Stuart Chricton
(Kylie Minogue, Sugababes) and Audius (Delta Goodrem, Jessica Mauboy). "From
The Inside Out" is out now and debuted at Number 2 on the Aria Chart.
