Sunset Cinema is back
Located on the lush turf of North Sydney Oval, in one of Sydney’s most picturesque landmarks, Sunset Cinema is the perfect occasion for a cinematic night to remember watching the stars under the stars. With its distinctive architecture and storied history North Sydney Oval boasts a commanding position overlooking the lights of North Sydney, the perfect backdrop to enjoy the best of Sydney’s summer nights.
The 2017 movie program is packed with Oscar favourites including best picture contenders: La La Land, a sweet comic musical starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone; Lion and Fences as well as Jackie, the biographical drama starring Natalie Portman who is a clear choice for best actress. Crowd pleasing blockbusters include Rogue One: A Star Wars Story; Dr Strange and Fifty Shades Darker. A great mix of family friendly movies will also feature including: Trolls; Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them; Moana and Sing and this season North Sydney will showcase cult classics Back to the Future and Dirty Dancing.
The line-up has something for everyone, with four screenings each week running from Thursday 19th January through to Saturday 18th March. So much more than a trip to the movies the Sunset Cinema is a must-do outdoor film experience where friends and family can sit back, relax and watch the stars under the stars. Food is available on site alongside a fully licensed bar and the Sunset Cinema snack bar has an ideal range of movie treats including Cobs popcorn, Bulla ChocTops, soft drinks, juice, lollies and chocolates.
