The Sydney Blues Festival
began in October 2009 in the historic town of Windsor. The local township of Windsor
was alive for three days with music, markets, shops and special treats for the
whole family. Bands like the Brewster Brothers, Backsliders, Mal Eastick, Johnny
Greens Blues Cowboys, Louis King and the Liars Club were on the bill last year.
The resounding success ensured the festivals return in 2010.
Windsor
is considered an ideal location for such a festival due to its accessibility,
history, dining and accommodation facilities. The village like atmosphere and
country vibe is a great way to get out of Sydney and see some of the very best
Australian bands in one place. The festival is run through a variety of venues
including pubs, restaurants, cafes and this year, the Blues cruise on the beautiful
Hawkesbury River. All within walking distance of each other, and only a 40 minute
trip from Sydney centre it is an easy drive along the M2.
2010 will not
disappoint the lover of music. The line-up mentioned is just the start of a brilliant
weekend of rhythm and blues and a bit of rock as well. Buskers, jam sessions,
workshops and youth groups will run throughout the weekend with more bands being
announced soon.
This year there are camping facilities available so book
early to reserve your spot over the three day weekend. For the BEST VALUE FESTIVAL
