ARTIST INFORMATION:
HERNAN
CATTANEO
Hernan Cattaneo's twenty year journey through
music shows no sign of slowing down. From Bahrain to Belfast, Singapore to San
Diego, Hernan's love laboured travels know no bounds in their trans-continental
reach with the Argentinean on a round-the-clock mission to spread his love for
electronic music. Constantly absorbing new sounds, cultures and influences from
the most varied outposts possible, Hernan bleeds them into as many projects as
he can. He is able to be inspired and inspire in equal measure. Indeed, as long
as he's playing the music he loves, you can be sure of three things; that he'll
be happy in whichever corner of the globe he finds himself and that those on the
dance floor are in for something special.
LOCO DICE
Every
so often a DJ or producer comes along who inspires the collective imagination.
If you've seen Loco Dice perform you will have recognised this. Loco Dice is someone
who can puzzle together intangible moods with a direct approach. Via his DJ sets
or his productions on labels like M_nus, Cadenza, Ovum, Four Twenty and Cocoon,
he merges perspectives in his delicate sense for sounds and reflective atmospheres,
underpinned with solid, physical grooves inspired by the hip hop that was his
early sonic stomping ground in the mid- to late '90s. There's something there
for the dreamers, as well as for the 9-to-5ers who just want to lose everything
in a moment of abandon on the dancefloor. His compositions are always well planned.
Listen to his music, imagine the cinematic accompaniments, and you'll understand
how something carefully constructed can begin with a flight of fancy, or a roll
of the dice.
JESSE ROSE
Ever since
the birth of music, there's been someone out there who's looked at what's available,
taken inspiration from what's around them and innovated a new style of music.
Stand up Jesse Rose. Regarded as one of dance music's most forward-thinking producers
in recent years. As one of the UK's finest exports as a DJ (he lives in Berlin,
of course) this is no overnight success. Jesse started DJing at the tender age
of 14, raised on an upbringing of Motown Soul, Jazz and Eighties Funk in London's
Ladbroke Grove area. 2007 seemed without doubt to be Jesse's year of recognition,
featured in every international dance music publication, nominated alongside four
others for 'Best British DJ' at the DJ Mag best of British Awards, number four
in IDJ players of the year & fourteen in Mixmag's best DJ's in the world 2007.
Jesse finished a triumphant year playing in Sydney to 15,000 people on the main
stage at Field Day. He's now the guy you turn to when you want a dancefloor remix,
lending his services to the likes of Hot Chip, Simian Mobile Disco, Underworld
and literally tonnes more. Jesse is now to release his first solo album, an album
which is in it's third complete version, three years in the making and his biggest
project to date. The album is a work of brilliance. Jesse shows how cutting edge
House can be accessible, playful and fun whilst proving exactly how blurred the
lines have become with Pop music, with guest appearances from Hot Chip, David
E Sugar and Afra & The Incredible Beatbox Band
OLIVER
$
Oliver $ is currently making huge waves on the house
scene working alongside Jesse Rose as his assistant engineer producing records
and remixes that are being played by the likes of Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano,
Derrick Carter and Switch. Oliver is one of the few Berlin house producers getting
recognition across the world as his unique style of House with a twist continues
to gain popularity. Having mixed the Made To Play compilation CD, "Playing
Around" Oliver has produced forthcoming E.P's on Front Room Recordings and
Made to Play as well as remixes on labels such as Greco Roman, Made to Play and
Rekids His productions and performances are always outstanding and its clear to
see why Jesse Rose has brought him onboard to be the top Made To Play representative
and tour world wide showcasing his unique style of House music.
KING
ROC
King Roc is undoubtedly one of the hottest young DJs
and producers on the electro-house scene. In fact, he's only just getting into
his stride and has several major new releases due over the coming months, for
labels like Kingsize, Bugged Out!, Playtime Records and iO Music. King Roc first
cut his teeth at Beautiful Records before going on to release several seminal
tracks including his remix of Chicken Lips 'Do It Proper' and 'Electric Disco
Tease' as Silver Sonic, a collaboration with Tom Neville. Since then he has released
critically acclaimed productions on labels like Kingsize, Backyard, Beautycase
and Most, as well as collaborating with Marc Almond. He has also remixed Dylan
Rhymes, Holdermann and Atlantis amongst others to wide spread praise and they
have been licensed to major compilations. Meanwhile his remix of the classic S-Express
track 'Theme from S-Express' has been a massive underground hit and is soon to
get a full release. His DJ skills are also increasingly in demand both in the
UK and internationally where his trademark 'digital pimps and dirty girls' sound
always goes down a storm.
