TOY STORY 3 BURSTING IN TO IMAX DARLING HARBOUR
EXPERIENCE IT IN IMAX® 3D FOR A LIMITED TIME
On 24 June 2010, audiences and families of all
ages will join Woody, Buzz and the rest of their favourite playtime pals when
the highly anticipated TOY STORY 3 comes to life in IMAX 3D at IMAX Theatre Darling
Harbour.
Moviegoers will see, hear and experience this long-awaited
third installment of the blockbuster hit TOY STORY in a whole new, larger-than-life
way that only IMAX can deliver. Digitally re-mastered into the unparalleled image
and sound quality of The IMAX Experience® through proprietary IMAX DMR®
technology, TOY STORY 3, an IMAX 3D experience, will debut concurrently with the
nationwide theatrical release. With crystal clear images, laser-aligned digital
sound and maximised field of view, IMAX provides the world's most immersive movie
experience.
"Motion pictures are just beginning to live
up to their true potential of being this immersive experience-going from beyond
black and white flickering images to fully immersive 3D colour high-definition,"
said Tom Hanks, who provides the voice of Woody in TOY STORY 3.
"You
don't even know where the real world starts and the fake world begins. And yet,
none of that's going to matter unless the story and the emotions that they allow
us to become invested in are something that we can recognise - isn't it grand
that the Toy Story films are such a great example of this power to deeply connect
with an audience?"
TOY STORY 3 welcomes Woody (voice of
Tom Hanks), Buzz (voice of Tim Allen) and the whole gang back to the big screen
as Andy prepares to depart for college and his loyal toys find themselves in
daycare! These untamed tots with their sticky little fingers do not play nice,
so it's all for one and one for all as plans for the great escape get underway.
A few new faces-some plastic, some plush-join the adventure,
including Barbie's counterpart Ken (voice of Michael Keaton), a thespian hedgehog
named Mr. Pricklepants (voice of Timothy Dalton) and a pink, strawberry-scented
teddy bear called Lots-o'-Huggin' Bear (voice of Ned Beatty).
Directed
by Lee Unkrich (co-director of Toy Story 2 and Finding Nemo), produced by Pixar
veteran Darla K. Anderson (Cars, Monsters, Inc.), and written by Academy Award
winning screenwriter Michael Arndt (Little Miss Sunshine). TOY STORY 3 is a comical
new adventure in Disney Digital 3D.
