After a long hiatus in the genre, Ministry of
Sound return to the fore of the Trance scene with their upcoming release Trance
Nation, an epic 2CD collection of the latest uplifting euphoric trance records,
expertly mixed by two of the undisputed biggest names of the genre: Above &
Beyond (UK) and tyDi (QLD).
Assuming mixing duties on Disc One is without
doubt the biggest name in Trance today, UK's legendary producer/DJ trio Above
& Beyond. Seminal in the evolution of trance music, Above & Beyond are
currently ranked #4 ion DJ Mag's International Top 100, and have been dubbed by
Radio 1's Pete Tong as "trance superstars" and who are changing people's
perceptions of the t-word "one of the most discerning trance outfits in the
business" (IDJ Magazine). Above & Beyond were recently voted Best Group
at the International Dance Music Awards, ahead of the likes of Daft Punk, Soulwax,
Justice, and Pendulum. They have remixed Madonna, won Radio 1's Essential Mix
of the Year, and played to one million people in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
A&B's
remixography reads like a who's who of both the Trance and Pop world, having remixed
artists as diverse as Faithless, Madonna, Fragma, Tomcraft. As one of the most
in demand acts on the scene they have played some of the world's most iconic music
events including Creamfields, Godskitchen, Global Gathering UK and Amnesia in
Ibiza. Meanwhile, their own productions have attracted consistent musical acclaim,
with their Tri-state album receiving a "brilliant
5/5" from DJ
Magazine. Their influential label, Anjunabeats, is generally seen as "one
of the most innovative dance music imprints around" (DJ Magazine).
tyDi,
meanwhile, currently holds Australia's #1 DJ and #2 Producer positions, as voted
by the inthemix50 DJ poll. At just 22 years old, his rise to the top has been
as quick as it has been impressive; he's played alongside some of dance's biggest
heavyweights including Above & Beyond, Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren and Paul van
Dyk, Fedde le Grand at Melbourne's recent Sensation event, plus a main stage spot
at Trance Energy in the Netherlands. A further endorsement from the dance establishment
came in the form of Armin van Buuren's label Armada releasing tyDi's recent production
"Meet Me in Kyoto" - and his debut album Look Closer planted firm roots
in the ARIA Dance Charts Top 20.
Trance Nation will include some of the
hottest tracks and remixes of the moment from artists including Armin Van Buuren,
Ferry Corsten, Marcus Schultz, Paul Van Dyk, plus the abovementioned Above &
Beyond and tyDi.
