'piece of pie/cheese: Which Q&A game is credited with creating the adult board
games category after its introduction in the early 1980s? If you answered TRIVIAL
PURSUIT, you're right! The popular board game that has had dozen of variations
and is played in 26 languages is about to revolutionize the games people play
once again, with the first ever high tech, customisable, version: 'TRIVIAL PURSUIT:

Trivial Pursuit Digital Choice edition
gives players an exciting new way to personalise and play the game that they love.
With more than 100 groups of questions to choose from, everybody can have their
area of specialty included, or even remove their least favourite categories from
the game entirely! No matter what you're area of specialty, the choice is yours!
With Trivial Pursuit, you simply download the question categories of your choice
or even create your own categories.
The choices are huge with
six classic categories - Entertainment, History, People & Places, Science
& Nature, Sports & Leisure and Wild - each having a further five sub categories
to choose from and within these, a further six sets of 50 card questions in specialty
areas. This makes it possible to not only design a game to feature your favourite
categories, but also to tailor a game to suit the players.
For
example, kids might choose categories such as Movie Teen Favs, Kids Television,
Fads & Fashions from 2000 onwards, Prehistoric , Living on the Edge and Extreme
Sports; while a more mature group of players may choose Music in the Movies, Comedy
legends, Fads & Fashions 1960's, The Olympics , Guilty Pleasures and Way Back
When. If you fancy yourself as a bit of a culture vulture you could include Operas,
Galleries & their Collections, Architecture, Books, Sound & Speech and
Etiquette. There's also a wealth of Australian question card sets for those that
want to show off their local knowledge.
The game comes with
an electronic game pod that plugs directly into a computer to customise categories
so a new game can be created every time you play. To get you started, the game
pod comes pre-loaded with six, 100-question categories, however, comes with a
credit to download 2400 questions from the thousands available at www.mytpchoice.com
or www.trivialpursuit.com.au. Simply download questions that best match your interests
and manage the question categories on your home computer. For an additional personalised
twist, players will have the opportunity to create their own categories based
on their lives, families or anything else they know all about! Each time the game
is played, the players choose the six categories that they want to play from their
entire database of questions.
