THE WILDEST DREAM SHEDS NEW LIGHT ON MALLORY EVEREST LEGEND - WAS HE FIRST TO THE TOP OF THE WORLD? 'The Wildest Dream', the feature length documentary from director Anthony Geffen, delves into the mystery behind the last days of adventurer and Everest climber George Mallory - the man who may or may not have been the first to scale the world's most challenging peak. 'The Wildest Dream' opens on 9 September 2010, for an exclusive season at IMAX Darling Harbour, home of the world's biggest cinema screen. After disappearing 800 feet from the summit in 1924, Mallory's body was never found - until present-day climber Conrad Anker discovered it, frozen and intact, 75 years later. Linking the past with the present, 'The Wildest Dream' recounts Anker's efforts to scale Everest in precisely the same fashion as Mallory - using replica 1920s-era clothing and equipment, Anker sets out to solve the great mystery of whether he succeeded in summiting Everest before he died. Sifting through clues left by Mallory, some of which have only come to light with the discovery of his body, Anker and his team attempt to solve the mystery of Mallory's death and grant to him the accolades that he may well be due. The most heartbreaking clue - all of Mallory s belongings were found intact on his body, except the photograph of his beloved Ruth, which he promised to leave at the top of the world if he succeeded. Directed by well-known documentary filmmaker Anthony Geffen and executive produced by Hollywood veteran Mike Medavoy, The Wildest Dream is narrated by esteemed actor Liam Neeson, accompanied by Natasha Richardson as the voice of Mallory's wife Ruth and Ralph Fiennes as Mallory. The couple's letters provide the backdrop for Mallory's quest to scale the world's highest mountain, as well as for its thrilling reenactment. Never-before-seen archival footage combine with the spectacle and grandeur of present-day Everest on the world's largest screen to portray an adventure - shrouded in mystery - that spans generations. A tale of extreme adventure and unrelenting obsession - 'The Wildest Dream' is also a haunting love story that endures the ultimate sacrifice.
