Join Sydney Autumn Carnival Ambassadors Rachel Griffiths and Elyse Knowles in celebrating one of Australia’s most anticipated sporting events of the year, Longines Golden Slipper Day at Rosehill Gardens, Saturday 19 March.
Boasting five Group 1 races, the atmosphere will be electric. Racegoers will witness history with the 60th running of the $3.5m Golden Slipper, the richest race for two-year–olds, which for the first time will be sponsored by Longines. Plus racegoers will be able to explore this iconic race further at the Heritage Display in the Old Betting Ring.
With a fresh and fun take on trackside fashion, the new social competition ‘Fashion at the Races’ presented by Myer, Vogue and GQ Australia will be conducted for the first time. Judged by Vogue Australia’s Editor-in-Chief Edwina McCann, fashionable ladies, gentlemen and groups of friends can enter for the chance to win a share in a $5,000 Myer shopping spree.
In a natural association of fashion and racing elegance, Longines will also award one racegoer with the prestigious Longines Award for Elegance, with the winner receiving the Longines DolceVita timepiece holding an estimated value of $2,850.
The NOVA 96.9 Garden Party, supported by Canadian Club, will be in full swing again this year, while trackside DJs will be pumping music between races making this Longines Golden Slipper Day an event on the social and sporting calendar not to be missed.
