Award-winning chef Luke Nguyen serves up the very best in rustic Southeast Asian street food for lunch and dinner seven days a week at his new pop-up restaurant Luke Nguyen Street Food in The Star Sydney’s Café Court.
The opening of the pop-up coincides with the launch of Nguyen’s new SBS TV series Luke Nguyen’s Street Food Asia, which will air eight episodes nationally every Thursday at 8:30pm from 1 September.
The specially crafted menu is inspired by the vibrant destinations visited in Nguyen’s TV series, including Saigon, Bangkok, Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur.
Each week the hole-in-the-wall pop-up will dish out a mix of tastes, textures and flavours straight from the heart of Southeast Asia, kicking off with lobster tom yum with mussels, lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves and vermicelli noodles ($23), Vietnamese baguette with char-grilled lemon-grass, Kurobuta pork patties and pork floss with pickled vegetables, coriander and chilli ($15), and smashed fried crispy chicken with chilli sambal and rice ($15).
The Luke Nguyen Street Food pop-up will operate daily until the end of November and will be open on Sunday to Monday 11.30am – 9.00pm, Tuesday to Thursday 11.30am – 10.30pm and Friday to Saturday 11.30am – 11.00pm.
