Distinctive single-malt, The Balvenie, will host its craft bar at the Strand Arcade’s “125 years of creating” celebration in Sydney, set to take place from 25 – 28 August 2016. Globally, The Balvenie is the world’s most handcrafted single-malt whisky and the only one that uses the five rare crafts in its creation. No other distillery grows its own barley, malts in its own traditional floor malting, and still has coopers who tend the casks, and a coppersmith to tend the stills.
As part of the celebrations, The Balvenie will be hosting a pop-up bar, where patrons will be able to sample The Balvenie 12 Year Old DoubleWood.
At the three day event, craft master classes will also be available where guests will learn the secrets of different craftspeople with their respective crafts and at each of these sessions, The Balvenie will toast the respective craftspeople with their range of handcrafted whiskies.
The artists involved with craft sessions are notable in their respective fields, with demonstrations from surfboard maker Mark Riley, book binder Cali Anderson, guitar maker Alan Thompkins, shoe maker Andrew McDonald, jewellery designer Cinnamon Lee and hat maker, Robert Carroll. When attending the Fair, consumers will be invited to explore the Arcade and see the various trades in action, as well as the other exhibits that will be on offer over the course of The Festival.WHAT: The Balvenie Craft Bar
