Live From The Greenroom
SurfStitch, Australia’s leading fashion & surf online retailer, have rolled out the latest episode of Live from the Green Room which showcases music performances from current popular surf bands recorded and shot in their home towns.
The new episode features Waxhead, a four piece who grew up together in Byron Bay, a once quiet surf town on the north east coast of Australia.
As their hometown’s popularity has grown through the eighties and nineties, its marketability has in turn sold the town’s innocence. Waxhead’s grunged out psychedelic surf rock puts on rose coloured shades and transports you back to summers past. Sundrenched, acid washed summers that have long since gone up in smoke.
Their music echoes a past that they grew up in. The sons of a generation that sought to break away from the rigid expectations of society during the ’50s and early ’60s, the band spent their youth at the beach, surfing.
