XS Espresso, Bondi
Café by day, family-friendly restaurant by night, XS Espresso has opened up in Bondi giving latte-sipping locals a place to get truly excited about.
Specialising in all things extravagant and in your face, XS Espresso will satisfy your sweet cravings with their stacked pancakes, waffles, crepes, dessert pizzas, churros and signature loaded shakes. And if you’re not up for complete indulgence, there are healthier breakfast options, fresh salads and nourish bowls to keep you going.
With an all day breakfast menu (7am to 4pm), there’s plenty here to satisfy all tastes including Eggs on Toast, Omelette, Smashed Avo, Shakshuka, Eggs Benedict and a delicious Acai Bowl blended with fresh bananas and topped with strawberries, kiwi, granola, coconut, chia seeds and almond flakes. This one is quite refreshing and is our top breakfast choice or post-workout snack.
The signature breakfast options are also noteworthy including the Big XS Breakfast, XS Ricotta Hotcake and the XS Stack with poached eggs, haloumi, grilled tomatoes and avocado on sourdough topped with za’atar. The sweet tomatoes and salty haloumi cheese make the perfect base for the flawlessly poached eggs. A delightful and totally delicious combination.
But the desserts are where this place truly shines. You can have the perfect ‘cheat day’ experience tucking into some Fluffy Nutter Double Waffles – a waffle sandwich filled with marshmallows, topped with crushed Maltesers, Oreos and Tim Tams – or getting into the Dulche De Leche Pancake stack, smothered in caramel dulche de leche, pretzels, torched banana, vanilla crumble and icecream. If you want to go ‘next level’, the appropriately titled Next Level Waffles will take you there filled with Nutella & Belgian chocolate, strawberries, M&Ms, crushed crunch and vanilla crumble served with vanilla icecream. A scrumptious blend of flavours brimming with sweet goodness – simply delectable!
Living up to the ‘XS’ name, their signature milkshakes are loaded to the extreme and are totall insta-worthy for snap-happy punters. There’s the Original Cronut, Volcano, Monster, Maximess, and the very special Golden Gaytime – a caramel, vanilla and coffee shake topped with a Golden Gaytime doughnut. Yum! Other drink options include fresh cold-pressed juices, smoothies, protein shakes and Campos coffee. Being in Bondi, lattes are plentiful (naturally) with your choice of Chai, Turmeric, Matcha, Taro, and our favourite nutty sweet treat, Nutella. It’s one of the best latte’s you’ll have!
Bondi locals no longer have to leave the area for their XS Espresso fix. With their classic breakfasts, virtuous salads, coffee catch-ups, treats for the little ones, cheat day cravings and late night drinks, what’s not to love about it.
