Alpha Restaurant: Greek Regional Dinner Series
Following the sell-out success of its recent Cretan dinner, Sydney’s Alpha Restaurant has announced more Greek regional dinners for 2018, showcasing cuisine from the Ionian Islands and Central Greece.
Taking the lead is the Delights of the Ionian Islands, a region home to holiday hotspots Corfu and Zakynthos, on Monday 2 July (2018), followed by A Taste of Central Greece on Monday 13 August, with dishes inspired by this culturally rich area of the country.
Each dinner in the series features a four-course menu created by the godfather of modern Greek cuisine in Australia, Executive Chef Peter Conistis, for $110 per person including matching wines.
Dinners are held in Alpha Restaurant’s iconic dining room, with interiors inspired by the Greek islands, with whitewashed walls, earthy tones and signature sandstone wall engraved with letters of the Greek alphabet.
“At Alpha, we’re very passionate about celebrating community and bringing people together to share a meal. What better way to do so than with a series of dinners celebrating the unique regions and cuisines of Greece,” Conistis said.
Alpha Restaurant is synonymous with Greek generosity and hospitality utilising the best local ingredients in their interpretations of traditional recipes. Housed in an historic building in Sydney’s CBD, Alpha’s stunning interior is inspired by the Greek islands and was designed by DS17’s Paul Papadopoulos. Alpha Restaurant is open daily for lunch and dinner, and for breakfast Monday to Friday.
