This January the B-Boy World Champions Tour comes to Australia for the first time. A very special 6-date tour in conjunction with the UK B-Boy Championships, the B-Boy World Champions Tour will kick off on the Gold Coast on Friday, 16 January and head through Logan, Brisbane, Cairns and Melbourne before the main event at Sydney’s Luna Park on Saturday 24 January.
This event is a first of its kind to be seen in Australia. Drawing from what is now a booming scene around the world, the B-Boy World Champions Tour show entails two separate performances: a matinee event perfect for families enjoying the closing days of the summer holidays, and an evening 18+ event, giving room for the local underground crews to get together to let it all out (excluding Logan).
Showcasing their skills this January are the two time UK B-Boy Championship finalist Brooke Milliner (UK), the first female World Popping Champion DeyDey (France); World Popping Champion Greenteck (Canada); the World’s most watched b-boy on YouTube with over 50 million views Junior (France); one of the World’s best powermovers, Marcio De Barros (Portugal); animation & robot specialist and Sky 1’s Got To Dance 2014 Finalist, Marvel (UK); Red Bull BC One Finalist Niek Traa (Holland) and current World B-Boy Classic Champion Sky Chief (Holland); World B-Girl Champion & Guinness World Record Holder Roxy (UK) and the UK’s #1 b-boy Sunni (UK). They will be putting their best foot forward, representing their countries and crews on a series of performances and head-to-head battles.
Keeping the energy at an all time high, the planet’s leading breaks DJ Renegade, the incredible beatbox skills of THePETEBOX and DJ Hooch, the founder of the UK B-Boy Championships, will be dropping the beats and calling each breaker throughout the day, showing the locals just how they do. The inaugural B-Boy World Champions Tour is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see the world’s best breakers, poppers, lockers and B-Girls in the one room this summer.
Also confirmed to appear on the Brisbane, Gold Coast and Logan shows on the B-Boy World Champions Tour are Australia’s rising Indigenous and hip hop music ambassadors, The Yung Warriors.
Nasser Sultan, the B-Boy World Champions Tour promoter, said today “Kids of all ages will be captivated by the energy these world champions bring to the stage. Seeing this show totally blew my mind and I knew there and then that we had to bring it to our shores”
