Bellini Cipriani Launched
The Italian food and beverage empire, founded by the Cipriani family, have launched Bellini Cipriani which serves the original Bellini recipe from a bottle. Pasquale Napoletano, managing director of Australian importer, Italy in a Glass, describes, “The only difference is that this Bellini is bottled, and at Harry’s Bar it’s made to order”.
The internationally recognised Cipriani brand holds humble roots in Harry’s Bar, Venice. The bar was founded by the family in 1931, and is the birthplace of the Bellini cocktail, formulated by Giuseppe Cipriani in 1948. Proud of the brand’s history, Napoletano asserts, “There is only one original Bellini”.
“The Cipriani family wants the world to know and taste the authentic Bellini recipe,” Napoletano explains. An authentic Bellini is made from high quality Prosecco and puréed Mediterranean white peaches. The taste is light, refreshing, and fruity. “It is not too sweet, as most of the sweetness comes from the peach flavour.” One or two glasses can be enjoyed easily, as it is low in alcohol.
Though the ingredient list is simple, the Bellini can be difficult to master. Napoletano praises Bellini Cipriani for minimising the steps involved in mixing a Bellini: “The best part is that you don’t have to do a thing. Just chill and pour”. For an extra detail, serve with a garnish of fresh peach.
As a pre-lunch or dinner cocktail, a glass of Bellini Cipriani sits perfectly beside any aperitifs. It pairs perfectly with olives, a light salad, or carpaccio (also invented at Harry’s Bar, but that’s a story best told over a cocktail…).
As with all Cipriani products, the family oversees the development process, ingredient quality, and final product. This ensures the Cipriani family legacy emanates through each bottle of Bellini Cipriani. The only authentic Bellini can be tasted at Harry’s Bar in Venice, or from a bottle of Bellini Cipriani.
