Victorian singer-songwriter Benny Walker’s brand spanking new album Through The Forest was released last month to rave reviews and a sold out hometown show, with Walker preparing to hit the road to showcase tunes from the new album nationally.

Through The Forest is the follow-up to 2012’s acclaimed Sinners & Saints. Blues, Americana, folk and gritty rock ‘n’ roll all play a part, but they come together to form a whole, something that isn’t anything but a Benny Walker album.

Having worked with Shane O’Mara on his previous release, Shane was an obvious choice as the producer for Through The Forest – “There’s something that comes from Shane and I working together, that makes it sound like a record.” Explains Walker on working with Shane O’Mara again.

This album is indeed the mark of an artist comfortable in his ability to craft a song first, without the distraction of whether or not said song will ‘fit’. And yet all nine songs here do fit, a definite cohesive thread running through; an album, not just a clutch of songs.
