Dinner and Jazz at The D’s Bar & Dining
One of Marrickville’s finest new restaurants, The D’s Bar & Dining, have added live music to its menu to entertain weekend diners.
Every Friday and Saturday evening, customers can enjoy the culinary creations of Executive Chef Lucas Doan, and an expansive bar menu while being entertained by a live jazz band. Great tucker + live jazz music = winning!
Doan opened the doors to The D’s Bar & Dining, just a few months ago after almost 20 years of honing his culinary skills in Sydney’s most exclusive dining establishments, notably Merivale icon Mr Wong. With Marrickville a foodie favourite for multicultural dining, Doan hopes to give discerning locals a more accessible option than that of having to travel into the Sydney CBD.
Doan has created a contemporary Asian menu reflecting his dual Vietnamese/Cantonese heritage, and catering to an eclectic demographic of cultures for which Marrickville and the Inner West is known. Starter highlights include the Hiramasa Kingfish, Prawn Toast, Beef Pho Tartar (made of Phoenix M8 Wagyu, broth jelly, basil, eschalot and sesame rice cracker) and the outstanding Sashimi Platter with its selection of scallops, kingfish, salmon, tuna and oysters. Fresh, well presented and super delicious.
As you delve further into the menu, you come across other delectable options such as the Glacier 51 Toothfish, Ca Kho NZ King Salmon, Kombu Prawn and one of our favourites, the Kungpao Mock Chicken with shallot, chilli and coriander peanut. With the right amount of spice and sweetness combined with its delicious crunch, this one is simply scrumptious. The Crab Fried Rice is another standout featuring Alaskan king crab, corn, egg and supreme sauce making for a dish that is just bursting with delicate seafood flavour.
There’s also a very impressive cocktail selection to explore while sitting back and enjoying the jazz tunes. Signatures cocktails include the super drinkable Coco Phe Martini, the refreshing Love In The Air and the hard to resist Amira Sour Candy. With a comprehensive wine and spirits list to complement the menu offering, there’s plenty here for everyone.
The addition of live music on weekends is a master-stroke and makes for a great night out for locals and visitors alike. With its fresh, delicious food, friendly staff and top-notch live entertainment, the D’s Bar & Dining is a must-visit.
