George St Deli Opens ‘GS. Deli’ In Surry Hills
George St Deli has opened its second Sydney location – ‘GS.Deli’ in Surry Hills – following a successful debut in Redfern just two years ago. To celebrate, this Saturday 31 August 2024, they are giving away 100 free cookies and coffees!
Founded by mother-daughter duo Bernadette Sheppard and Anna Berlyn in August 2022, George St Deli has quickly become a favourite for its authentic NYC-style bagels, delicious cookies, coffee, and homemade lemonade. Now, they’re bringing their popular offerings to Surry Hills, with plans to expand throughout Sydney.
“We’re proud to offer a unique offering and product that stands out in the food industry,” says Berlyn. “We plan to expand into areas across Sydney metropolitan areas that share GS.Deli’s vibe and ambiance.”Inspired by iconic NYC spots like Katz’s Deli and Russ & Daughters, GS.Deli blends family tradition with expertise in hospitality and design.
The Surry Hills menu mirrors Redfern’s, featuring signature bagels like the LOX CLASSIC (smoked trout, cream cheese, red onion, capers, tomato) and the PASTRAMI (wagyu smoked brisket pastrami, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, Russian dressing). Sweet options include their pastries and cookies in five stand-out flavours.
The Surry Hills store retains mood of Redfern, with monochromatic tones, ’50s and ’60s music, and staff in black-and-white uniforms, creating a nostalgic diner atmosphere.
