Bondi Junction’s hidden gem, Spring Street Social, has had a make-over that includes a brand new cocktail list and a la carte menu, designed by Spring Street Social’s Executive Chef, Kago-Fong.
The discreetly placed door to Spring Street Social can be found amidst a hive of shopfronts and once opened, will lead you to an incredible space that has been transformed into a laboratory of live music, inventive cocktails, craft brews and recipes full of unique tastes and flavours. In harmony with the eclectic style of Spring Street Social, the new a la carte menu offers a mouth-watering mix of dishes, inspired by Middle East and Asian-fusion cuisine with a focus on fresh ingredients and poultry. “Kago-Fong has brought cinema to the table!” commented Andrew Bird, co-owner of Spring Street Social.
“Our Raw bar focuses exclusively on Sydney’s best and freshest produce. Waiting to arrive at your table is the Hiramasa Kingfish Tartare, enclosed in a smoked glass cloche. Once lifted, your senses will be instantly hit by this spectacular array of fresh seafood. A Spanish chorizo sausage glazed in aged whisky moves straight to your tableside with a theatre full of flames from the fire. This is definitely an attention-seeking dish.”
In homage to the golden age of cure-all elixirs, Spring Street Social takes you back to a time of rustic chemists and homespun apothecaries. With its 1920s shabby chic décor brought to life by moody lighting, vintage brick walls and fireside leather couches, the intimate, jazz-infused cocktail bar will transport you back to a long-forgotten era where great service and good times were king.
“At the start of the pandemic, we had to stop and re-train our thought process to concentrate on new ways of being creative in order to survive. And survive, we did!” adds Bird. “The gem in the crown of Spring Street Social has always been our live music, inspired by the Chicago and New York City live Jazz scene. Our dimly lit establishment transports you back in time with an array of high-end cocktails, vintage whiskies and our fabulous new Asian tapas menu is one not to be missed.
