The Yeeros Shop in Marrickville has been feeding hungry Sydneysiders for decades. The beloved eatery has been capturing the hearts of locals and food enthusiasts alike for years with dishes that speak to the soul of Greek culture.

Owners since 2012, Kostas Tomaras and Poppy Papadopoulos have now opened a second taverna in Annandale that is sure to be a hit with lovers of authentic Greek cuisine. Poppy and Kostas (who previously ran nine Yeeros Shops across Greece) have not only expanded to Annandale but have also recently renovated their iconic Marrickville location.

For locals dreaming of a Greek Island getaway, a visit to The Yeeros Shop Annandale will have you feeling like you’re sitting in a local taverna at the popular tourist destination. The cosy space, reminiscent of a traditional Greek restaurant, features earthy toned walls and cobblestone-patterned flooring, blending simple Greek aesthetics with modern touches.

While its authentic interiors are impressive, The Yeeros Shop is also a symbol of community and family. The owners are so friendly that they’re on a first-name basis with many of its customers. The shop has clearly built strong and loyal relationships with the locals over the decades.

The food here is just as impressive with a solid list of fan-favourites to dig into. One of the top picks is their signature Lamb Yeeros stuffed with lamb, vegetables, tzatziki, paprika and chips. You won’t find a more authentic yeeros unless you take a trip to Greece. So tender and flavourful…and if you prefer pork or chicken, those options are available too (and just as delicious).

Another menu highlight is the Souvlaki with choices including chicken, lamb, pork, and bacon and chicken. Perfectly seasoned and grilled to perfection, they’re just lip-smacking good. There are milk bar favourites too such as classic hamburgers, steak sandwiches and their hand-cut chips topped generously with chicken salt.

Their snack packs and plates are also well worth diving into. The Yeeros Plate comes loaded with your choice of lamb, pork or chicken yeeros along with chips, Greek salad and pita. It arrives in a generously sized portion so you won’t be hungry after devouring this one. Simply mouth-watering. There are even some new offerings to explore such as the classic Pork Yeeros, traditional Skepasti, and the choice of Large Pita or Bread Roll Style Yeeros. There’s truly something here for everyone!

The Yeeros Shop is an exciting new addition to Annandale’s dining scene. Situated alongside their sibling venue, Fat Fish, the new location offers communal seating and a warm atmosphere that celebrates family and community. With its affordable pricing, down-to-earth staff and absolutely delicious food, you simply can’t go wrong.
