TJ Swim Are Turning Up The Heat
“Miami Heat,” is TJ Swim’s powerful and edgy new collection which blends minimalistic shapes with tantalising sky high cuts in contrasting tones. TJ Swim founder and designer Tara Jane drew inspiration from the sunsets, lifestyle and pop culture of 80’s Miami.
“Our Musk coloured pieces contrasted with the Ashy blue tones, along with 80’s inspired styles all tied into the theme and location of our first ever launch at Miami Swim Week,” said Tara Jane.
Reviewers at Miami Swim Week adored the collection: New York media Amsterdam News called the designs “edgy yet sophisticated,” while Malendyer Magazine described TJ Swim’s minimalistic designs as their favourite aspect of the brand’s show.
Integrating the iconic 80’s aesthetic into swimwear has been a running trend throughout all TJ Swim collections however the new SS19 collection sees an introduction of new Miami Vice-inspired tones.
“We’ve kept the continuous trend of high-cut legs and super thin lines as we have always placed emphasis on minimal tan lines and creating figure, flattering styles.”
Unlike many brands who offer one colour palette per season, TJ Swim’s ‘Miami Heat’ collection caters to women of all skin tones with pastels, coppers and monochrome pieces in minimalistic styles.
‘Miami Heat’ features a one-piece, triangle, halter, and strappy bandeau piece to cater to all body types. The highest cut legs that you will see this season coupled with super thin straps, that are designed to minimise tan lines, create a modern take on an 80’s aesthetic. Dainty detailing maintains TJ Swim’s exclusive edge which can be seen through the label’s use of luxe hardware, thin hip straps and cage detailing.
Fans of the brand will be thrilled that the collection showcases TJ Swim’s signature Brazilian coverage bottoms, with extra options of medium coverage or 80’s thong style.
In conjunction with the women’s line, TJ Swim is thrilled to release its first ever Men’s Swim collection for SS19. Sparked by the constant request by fans for a men’s line, Tara Jane finally gave in.
“We thought that it would only be fair to also design high quality, minimal swimwear for both women and men of all body types. This is something that we’ve been wanting to do for a while now!”
Much like their process with past women’s collections, the label undertook extensive research to understand what men want from their swimwear until they landed on the perfect beach short.
