Every bride wants at least two things from their wedding day. Traditionally, the father of the bride, the groom, the best man and the maid of honour make speeches at the wedding. While you can still absolutely have the traditional people make speeches, why not invite more people up to say a few words? If anything, it will add more stories for your guests to enjoy, and it gives even more people that you love a chance to say something at your wedding.

Opt for a non traditional wedding dress

Lots of brides love the idea of wearing a white or ivory dress for their big day, and while there’s nothing wrong with that, why not consider something less traditional? Instead of your bridesmaids wearing a coloured dress, why don’t you wear one and have your bridesmaids wearing white? You might even opt to match your dress with the coloured lab grown diamonds on your engagement ring. It doesn’t really matter what you choose – as long as you are happy and feel like a million bucks on the day, nothing else really matters!

Have a close friend or family member conduct the ceremony

Finally, another great touch to take your wedding away from tradition is by having a close friend or family member conduct the ceremony. Rather than using a priest, have a think about who you would both like there to marry you. They can get ordained online and it will make your ceremony even more special for you and your partner because it can be more personal to the both of you. And, if you’re not choosing to get married in a church, you might even consider getting married in a less-than-traditional location. If you’re near a beach and the weather is nice, why not consider that? Or, if your reception is in a swanky hotel, why not see if you can conduct your ceremony there?
