The Sackville: Rozelle’s Favourite Local

Inner West icon, The Sackville, recently reopened its doors after a full-scale renovation.

With a re-imagined street bar, new outdoor seating and refreshed spaces built for good food, cold drinks, and great company, Rozelle’s favourite local is well and truly back!

The Sackville’s redesigned main bar now flows seamlessly between high tables, booths, and big street-facing windows – ideal for a sunny cocktail or weekend catch-up.

The refreshed interiors are warm and unpretentious, with new furniture, lighting, and layout designed to make the most of the venue’s prime corner position. Outside, new tables spill onto Darling Street, perfect for golden-hour drinks or lazy Sunday lunches – connecting the buzz of Rozelle directly to the bar.

The Sackville’s new food menu has also had a glow up – from share-friendly snacks to lighter seasonal dishes, premium steaks from the grill and beloved pub classics. Starter highlights include fresh Sydney Rock Oysters, the creamy Burratta, delicious Fried Prawn Cutlets and the totally delectable Raw Tuna with shallot, chives, capers and crisps. Refreshing and light yet super satisfying!

More substantial offerings include some scrumptious burgers and salads, flavourful meats from the grill, and crowd favourites like the Beer Battered Fish & Chips and 250g Chicken Schnitzel with baby gem salad, fries and your choice of sauce. The schnitty here is beautifully golden and satisfyingly crunchy…what more could you ask for?

To wash it all down, there are a plethora of craft and classic brews, alongside a fresh and fun cocktail list, with highlights such as Blackberry Royale and the frozen Pina Colada. The wine selection is extensive and full of character, much like the neighbourhood’s vibrant community spirit. Plus there are some unmissable Happy Hour deals worth writing home about ($7 mini martinis, $12 margaritas and $3 oysters).

The Sackville are also now offering a Bottomless Lunch experience on weekends from 11:30am to 3pm. The flavour-packed $55pp share-style menu kicks off with starters such as citrus-marinated olives, warm rosemary focaccia, raw tuna and burrata with peppers and herb oil. For the mains, there’s a ½ roast Bannockburn chicken, Mafaldine (steak upgrade available) with king prawns, accompanied by sides to share. For those looking to make the most of the occasion, the $85pp bottomless package pairs the share-style menu with endless house wine and beer.

On the entertainment front, Fridays kick off with the famous Darling Street Meats raffle and live acoustics, setting the tone for a weekend full of fun. There are DJs playing til late on Saturdays while Sunday sessions includes $14 Bloody Marys and chilled afternoon acoustic sessions. There’s even a brand new Sports Bar with expansive screens, TAB facilities and a dedicated bar that brings big energy to every sporting fixture.
