The newest release of Alex Formosa Baudo’s, Honesty, has just been unleashed through Newmarket Music. Alex was born in Rome, Italy, in 1962, but has lived for most part of his life in North America and Australia, where he has pursued professionally his love of music and musical performance.
Over the years Alex has released many records, his latest being Honesty, a collection of 14 songs, all reflecting the multiplicity of his experiences and sources of influence accumulated in his “nomadic” life of creating, playing and encountering music around the world.
Three of the tracks in Honesty are freshly re-mixed versions of songs from his debut album Alex Formosa, which was released in 1992, achieving two “Top 10 Hits” in Canada.
Alex has dedicated the new record Honesty to his very good friend the late Marc Hunter, acknowledging the important role Marc played on his own musical style. It’s no coincidence, then, to find in Honesty a semi unplugged rendition of “Are you old Enough” plus a bilingual Italian-English version of “Here am I” which was written by Marc Hunter together with Alan Mansfield from “Dragon.” The Album also includes, among others, a song by Don Walker, “I’ve Got The Blood” written for Alex and featuring Ian Moss on guitar, and “I Don’t Want To Let You Down” a duet with Joe Creighton.
This new album was put togeher by Alex in collaboration with “The People” a group of outstanding musicians with whom Alex has developed a close working relationship spanning many years. Ten of the 14 songs in Honesty are originals, and the album bears all marks of a lovingly crafted work.
Look out for Alex Formosa Baudo with “The People” at a live venue near you , performing many songs from this latest offering. If you are looking for Honesty, you will not be disappointed with this album.
