Anglicare’s Sydney Op Shops stocked with discounted clothing and food to help people struggling during winter

Anglicare’s Sydney-based Op Shops are stepping up to support their local communities this winter by offering affordable, high-quality, second-hand goods at significantly reduced prices.

Any shopper who mentions the code Winter30, will receive a 30% discount at Anglicare Sydney Op Shops in Bondi Beach, Rouse Hill, Rozelle, Newtown and Newport from now until the end of August 2024. Each Op Shop is well-stocked with winter essentials including cosy jackets, sweaters, and blankets, at very affordable prices.

In addition to clothing donations to support people in need this winter, Anglicare is running The Community Pantry. This initiative enables the purchase of x1 shopping bag (per customer) of food and essentials valued at approximately $60 for only $12.

Winter can be particularly challenging for those already struggling with financial difficulties. Approximately, 400 Sydneysiders are sleeping in temporary accommodation or rough sleeping on the streets. ¹ From June to August, the average temperature drops to single digits, making it extremely uncomfortable and cold for vulnerable people, who don’t have access to warm clothing and winter essentials.

In addition to shopping at Anglicare’s Sydney-based Op Shops, Sydneysiders can also make a positive impact on their local community by donating quality pre-loved items to their local Op Shop, keeping clothing out of landfill, and giving each piece a second life.
