Anne of Avonlea

The long awaited follow up to the popular Anne of Green Gables, BBC’s Anne of Avonlea continues the story of Anne Shirley (Kim Braden) as she enters adulthood and embarks on her life as a schoolteacher.

Based on L.M. Montgomery’s classic novels Anne of Avonlea and Anne of the Island, this six part 1975 BBC miniseries reunites Anne with former schoolmates Diana Berry, Gilbert Blythe, Charlie Sloan, Fred Wright and a host of others on the newly formed Village Improvement Society in Avonlea.

When two new orphans arrive at Green Gables life for Anne, who had hoped to attend college, takes an unexpected turn. Will she have to learn what she can of life and love in Avonlea or are there more conflicts and changes in store?
