If you’re a Woolwich local or have visited the beautifully landscaped ‘The Goat Paddock’, chances are that you’ve also experienced the flavours and culture of Italy at neighbouring Italian restaurant Cucinetta.
Boasting fabulous views of the city skyline and Sydney Harbour Bridge, the food at Cucinetta encompasses classic methods of cooking by keeping the rules true to the Italian kitchen, but with a modern twist, innovation and creativity.
Only open for lunch and dinner since being established in 2006, Cucinetta have just launched their brand new breakfast concept. Reviving authentic, traditional Italian food, the new breakfast offerings include beauties such as Baked Eggs with kale, chorizo, capsicum, tomato and chilli, Eggs Benedict, Apple Crumble Spelt Porridge, Zucchini Fritters, Croissant French Toast, House Granola and the outstanding Ricotta Blueberry Hotcake with maple syrup, poached pear, rhubarb and mascarpone. Delicately light and deliciously sweet, each bite just melts in your mouth.
Smashed Avocado lovers are catered for too. Cucinetta’s version comes on a thick slice of sourdough with heirloom tomato, basil, buffalo feta, and a side of lemon. The resulting creamy blend is tasty, healthy and will keep you going all day. Also available are a selection of sumptuous pasticceria – croissants are made directly in house and filled with Nutella. Make sure to try the Almond Croissant. With its crispy edges, crunchy nuts and moist interior, it’s a true flavour explosion.
The coffee is quite spectacular too. Featuring Vittoria’s premiere espresso blend, Cinque Stelle, it delivers a smooth delicate finish on the palate and is prepared with care by excellent baristas. Do make sure to try one of the deconstructed options – it will be one of the best coffees you taste this year.
Cucinetta is a superb restaurant serving breakfast from 7-11am from Monday to Saturday. The venue is also open for lunch, dinner and all day treats. And did we mention the views?
