Dear Delicious, Dulwich Hill
Long-time readers will know that we love our hidden gems and that would be the perfect way to describe Dear Delicious in Dulwich Hill. In what appears to be a quaint little cafe as you set foot inside, it becomes a whole lot more when you discover its outdoor courtyard – a beautiful earthy escape where you can chill out with friends and even bring your pets.
Having recently undergone some renovations, the new fit-out features exposed concrete, bright paint jobs, honeycomb tiling, and hanging lights…it’s the perfect place to ‘Eat Healthy & Be Happy,’ as per their mantra. This natural vibe steps beyond the fit-out and finds its way into their wholesome menu which is full of organic and sustainable ingredients, with the herbs and vegetables used often sourced straight from their own garden.
Overflowing with fresh produce, the Dear Delicious garden is a thriving, pesticide-free ecosystem where customers can sit and enjoy a meal surrounded by nature. We love this ‘garden to plate’ philosophy and Dear Delicious has just launched its new menu with wholesome offerings including ‘Nourish Me’ Baked Kichardi Turmeric Chickpea Fritters, Chicken Salad, Steak Sandwich and ‘Dearly Cheesy’ – a gloriously creamy and fluffy union of scrambled eggs and cheese made with sautéed garlic, chilli and parmesan on sourdough, topped with probiotic vegetables and cured trout.
Avo lovers won’t be able to resist the Avocado Heaven on Earth with charcoal quinoa bread topped with poached eggs, sprouted mung and pea hummus, tomato, activated seeds, goats chevre, and pistachio dukkah. Absolutely delicious on its own but for some added oomph, can be tried with bacon or with house cured trout. Other options include the Dreamy Blue Ocean smoothie bowl, Dearest Fishy Tortillas, Love Summer Pancake and our top pick – ‘Bring It On Dear’ (Open Brekky Burrito) with scrambled coconut egg, tomato relish, sweetcorn, avocado, black bean salsa and chipotle mayo. What a great way to start your day with this healthy and filling offering. What else is there to say but, “Bring it on!”
They also do a great coffee, which is locally sourced from The Little Marionette, so you know you’ll be getting a quality cup to kick off the day. With juices, raw blends, milkshakes, teas, and even alcohol on offer, you won’t be leaving this place thirsty. So book in your next wholesome brunch now – Dear Delicious is open seven days a week.
