Delisse opens in Sydney

Frenchman Mathieu Thomas is bringing a touch of an authentic French food market to Sydney’s CBD this August, when Délisse opens in Martin Place on Monday 5th August, 2013.

Délisse is a new concept in food retailing, aiming to bring to Australia a part of the culinary heritage of the old continental Europe and transport customers on a unique foodie journey. Offering the freshest and most authentic products, Délisse will showcase cuisines from France, Italy and Spain.

Everything on Délisse’s menu is prepared with the finest ingredients and you will be able to find exactly the type of products you would find in a European food market including; rustic breads, charcuterie, cheeses, and fresh vegetables. Délisse will be implementing these products in an extensive range of European inspired sandwiches and salads.

Also on offer will be a unique range of French pastries which are made using traditional recipes and are baked on site every morning. These will include some of the most indulgent French treats you can find in the Sydney food scene! Délisse also want to introduce Sydney to the French Café Gourmand concept – where mini pastries / sweet tweets accompany each coffee. They have also created a specific coffee blend, which is the result of collaboration between David Rosa from Bay Coffee, an award winning coffee roaster, and Délisse’s ‘Maître Patissier’. They worked together to create the best blend possible to accompany Délisse pastries and sweet creations – the result is simply unique.

In addition to their pastries, Délisse will also offer breakfast ‘tartines’. Tartines are made using a slice of rustic baguette, the finest quality toppings – either sweet or savoury – and toasted.
